-   -   Nathan vs. John James for Alpha-Male? (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144172)

Steve is the alpha- You don't have to be the loudest to have the biggest voice. When JJ kicks off people immediately oppose him, because they question his judgement. Likewise Nathan with his behind-the-back bitching, and the general negative reactions to him dominating the kitchen. I bet that if Steve started to tell people what for, everyone would go silent and listen. Steve is the alpha male of a HUGE family after all, and has demonstrated great strength through tragedy and adversity.

JJ and Nathan aren't really leader type personalities, imo. More like Steve or Shabby.

I don't like either of them and both of them would have a malignant influence on the house as "leader" figures.

Jamietwo 30-06-2010 12:31 PM

nathans strength is his laid back attitude...he is a fairly gentle alpha male. JJ is an emotional boy and is held in immaturity by his anger. we have more to come from steve.

MrGaryy 30-06-2010 12:33 PM

I'm sorry but neither of them are alpha male, in fact the mere thought of John being 'alpha' I find hilarious. They're both way too young and immature, they're actually both extremely child like. the alpha male is Steve. Corin is the alpha female.

Laid back??? A man who has a hissy fit over someone not sharing their crisps and gets all queeny when someone takes something from the cupboard without his express permission.

Not sure if I see Corin as alpha female. Mother-figure maybe not sure if that's the same as alpha female? But Shabby seem to be a shepherd leading some of the sheep.

The housemates respect Corin, she's knows when to float but wasn't a doormat as seen when she stood up to John James. They come to her for advice, she;s very much the female alternative to Steve.

Shabby is way too volatile and childlike to be alpha. At first she comes across dominant and leader-like but very soon people, even her friends realise she's actually just very temperamental and opinionated and lose the respect for her.

Steve is by far the best man for the job - never send a boy to do a man's job - both Nathan and JJ are immature little boys (despite Nathan having the face of a 40 year-old).

Lex 30-06-2010 01:03 PM

JJ could'nt be 'the alpha male' in a Hareem!!

paper-cut-exit 30-06-2010 01:03 PM

Neither Nathan nor JJ are alpha material imo. Steve is the prime candidate to fit the alpha-male spot in the house.

Ha, I forgot about that! She has got a bit of venom to her then.

And I guess she is the closest female equivalent to Steve.

Still, Shabby will probably rise to be the petulant/charismatic evil dictator of the house

Ha, ha - Nathan is the biggest sheep in there - baaahhh! Don't suppose he has had an original idea in his life!

Shiner 30-06-2010 01:19 PM

It's a tough call for the girls because I don't think the role has been filled yet. I suspect Josie is more alpha than Corin who is definitely the mother figure but lives in a bubble and has no leadership aspirations (she's just happy keeping on top of her physical appearance). I think there is more chance of all the females following what Josie says (when she's not sucking her thumb that is) than Corin. Shabby would definitely be up there as alpha if she sorted herself out but she'll never be respected in the role as long as she is prone to tantrums. Shabby's influence is more about winding up the toys and letting them go, rather than leading by example.

Every word that comes out of his mouth is a cliche... even when he's angry.

georgehudson 30-06-2010 01:54 PM

Nathan because the whole house accept from a few would be on his side, cant see them going against each other but still, Nathan has more power :)

WOMBAI 30-06-2010 01:56 PM

I expect the Nathan vote to go up - when all the kids get back from school!

Somehow - I don't think Nathan and power are familiar with one another! :joker:

John.

fuzzylovin 30-06-2010 04:15 PM

They both idiots.

Sabrewulf238 30-06-2010 04:21 PM

I think Steve is the alpha male too...

Well if you're talking about the father figure then I'd definitely say it's Steve

Chels 30-06-2010 04:46 PM

How anyone can say that paranoid little **** John is alpha male is beyond me. Nathan isn't one either though, he's too laidback. It's Steve definately, everyone looks up to him and respects him.
