Yes, but it will be off season forever lol How many do you think are gonna stick around?

Firewire 14-07-2010 03:26 PM

Second option.

Some mods are biased. It's fairly obvious.. and it's obvious who would be if they to become a mod.

But I think it's cool if they talk and do their job too. But I don't get... do mods like have rules and follow them if they see 'offensive language' or something.. or do they give infractions/bans if they think it's offensive or insulting? If that makes any sense..

A bit of both stacey.

Though a lot of 'offensive' posts are not seen until days afterwards, in that case, its a bit useless giving infractions. The main thing people need to remember, is we do not read EVERY post, so if there is anything offensive, they need to report it incase we havent seen it.

On the other hand, people slagging off your favorite housemate, is NOT offensive unless they are going really over the top and saying they should die or something.

Also onto insults. See, its pointless reporting someone insulting you, and then going back to insult the person who insulted you...if that makes sense. Because if it is just a huge slagging match, either both will be banned, or the posts just deleted. Unless the other person is blatantly baiting you into an argument in the first place...if that makes sense...Report and ignore.

Oh right. Thanks :) I get that.

Right, to start with, this is about noone in particular. I have been criticized a lot during the past few days for having opinions on housemates/commenting in certain threads etc.

Now, do you prefer a mod who chats openly with you all, whilst dealing with reports/closing threads etc, or a mod who doesn't really speak at all...but just does their job, with the odd comment about a thread being closed or something.

I don't see any reason why I shouldn't post here too...I really don't. But obviously, some people do :S

I dont think mods posting opinions on forums affects the standard of the forum. Moderators dont get to be moderators generally unless they can do their job objectively.

On this forum in particular I havent really seen any mod let their personal beliefs interfere with their job, as for personal criticism of yourself, if someone has a complaint about a mod they can take it up with either the admin or the owner, so whats their beef? Probably just feeling sorry for themselves and lashing out. Take it with the proverbial pinch of salt Vicky.

Obviously someone who is a conversationalist, yet they still blend in with the forum members and doesn't take to much authority.

Agree.
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more happen on Off Season.

On Season use to be good now it's been ruined by trollish chavs who seem to forget what the Shift or Caps Lock button is for when making a new thread, I swear I hate seeing threads with no capital at the start.

And then of course you have trolls acussing long term posters of being trolls

Nothing compared to off season though.

Who is biased?

I think James hates me but when he gives me a infraction I don't think it's his way of doing it because he hates me I suppose he would do it to anyone although he does give you infractions for some things while others get away with it..

I got an infraction for doing this one time..

':joker::joker:'

Exactly, lol But no one else did but Idk.

Vicky isn't biased either, Me and her get along fine but she has given me infractions in the past when needed too.

Is it another mod you mean that's biased?

arista 14-07-2010 03:58 PM

This Thread is Not needed
Just Allow Vicky to Post
and do her job.

If Anyone feels she is wrong
PM her
or PM James.

"I don't see a problem with mods chatting, as long as they do their job too"
^^ And just so people know Vicky isn't bias, she as given me a lot of infractions on here, and i get on with her.

It can be hard to stick to things like consistancy..

So hard when people complain.. make second accounts.. and generally just insult you, becuase they got a ban for doing something againast the rules.
It can get very hard to be consistant in the punishment you give out.

It comes down to, if you break the rules, accept your punishment, if you feel you have been unfairly treated through a bias mod contact an admin via pm and they can take action if they so wish.

Generally im here to chat, and i clean up and sort out what i can.
I try my best not to be bias, although im sure loads think i am.

hmmmm. Not a great thing to say. No mod should be bias.

Miss Ivy Balls 14-07-2010 04:37 PM

I selected option one because I think mods should have a separate account if they want to chat on the forum.
