He's good at stirring the pot whether he's joking or not. But I'm guessing he's joking and if he isn't it doesn't really matter. He's not the authority on it, you know, like, he's gay and all so possibly slightly biased and uneducated on the matter.

he also forgets that women would feel vulnerable in parks etc as they are the weaker sex

he really did not think it through

Doesn't the saying go, if you think women are the weaker sex, try getting the duvet off one at 3am.

I'm surprised this has caused so much discussion considering some of the excrutiatingly tasteless things I hear some "comedians" say on TV that hardly cause a ripple. I think it's just fashionable to have a pop at Mr Fry.

Aye. Right!!! :hugesmile::hugesmile::hugesmile:

You've not heard of dogging then I take it...... where do you think that takes place, in Aunty Isobell's driveway?

Lots of places that woman can randomly 'pick up men' for a good old fashioned bit of hard sex... hang around a few kebab shops at about 3.30am and you'll see what I mean.

The clip is out there of him saying the exact same thing two years ago, and he is DEFINITELY NOT JOKING! He's doing damage control, plain and simple. A gay man passing himself off to be a expert on the female anatomy. Oh, the irony!

Women. Forvthis reason we r poofters

Stephen fry is absolutely right. The problem is political correctness and social engineering from men being able to say it and women admitting it.

For this reason we r poofters.

That's a rather bigoted view. I don't think he's uneducated on anything and his sexuality has no bearing on having opinions on heterosexual matters.

There are lots of opinions on here about gay people by straight people. Why not the other way round?

This thread is ridiculous. Especially the homophobic comments about how gay men "hate" women?? you must be kidding.

Pull up the statistics about violence against women.... I think you'll find out who really hates women, and it's not GAY men.

It's STR8 men that beat the holy crap out of women, abuse them, molest them, rape them and kill them. It's not gay men that hate women. Look at the facts plzzzz.

...And to all those saying because he's gay, he knows nothing about heterosexual relationships, again, that's crazy.

Gay men know more about str8 relationships than heterosexuals, because we see BOTH sides from an honest perspective. Gay men hang out with str8 men, and hear them speak about women when no women are around, AND we hang around women, and hear women talking about men when no str8 men are around, so really gay men DO know more about hetero relationships than hetero's themselves, cause we see BOTH sides uncensored!
