Fresher? :D I don't think so, all they have tried to do is copy some aspects of the American series over the last two years and generally they have done a very poor job of it. Big Brother is way bigger than this Essex program so they only want to follow that if they want to make it a much smaller program (audience and budget).

And as for the 'now' medium that is the internet, and that includes forums, a decent BB website and live stream (the things that CH5 ignores). And as for the apps I still don't think some of them are ready, they have been completely amateur and really just lied to the public in overhyping the series and what they would do for it.

I think you have slightly misread my post, I said it would be a positive thing if it was attracting new audiences, I ended with I know people (who I know personally, not on here),who haven't watched BB before who are now.

I would hope though that it does pull in new viewers and hold onto them too. That would be really good.

And yeah, not to sound like a broken record but without LF, it's a different show altogether imo. We have nothing to discuss really bar the HLs show and we all know, what they choose to show and what actually goes on can be alot different, so It's hard not to feel like we're being conned in some way.

Exactly ..... ;)

The HLs, the video clips and the newspaper all seem to cover the same 45 mins in the house ..... :bored:

Eh-oh! Again-again! ..... :colour:

People seem to be judging this series based on the channel it's on and nothing more. It's rating great on Channel 5. These numbers are great for Channel 5. Channel 5 normally does not rate this well.

Taking the discussion back to Big Brother though and it's merely at it's base audience once again. I highly doubt two and a half million core fans left the formula overnight because they hated the nametags and found it too hard to switch to Channel 5 all the time which then led to two and a half million new fans coming in to replace them.

These people watching now are just the exact same people who watched Big Brother 10. And that's for a celebrity series. All that hype and this 'new and improved' Big Brother has just delivered the audience who were always going to check it out anyway. And again that's for the celebrity series. It's going to absoloutely tank in a few weeks.

It's not getting new fans. The formula is tired. For my money they will never attract a sizeable blip of new fans ever again. Just temporary rating spikes when something big happens.

Channel 5 bought the Big Brother brand because they knew they were also buying the pre-existing audience as well (which being from bigger channel was bigger than they would be used to), but then they've shown they don't care less what that audience think.

And it's pointless comparing CBB to BB10, because this isn't even a main series. And anyway BB10 has some great nights of live action as well as a good cast without all the over the top editing we get now.

It's obviously all down to Live Feed, point blank.

It's because of the state of the forum.

That is patently obvious! You only have to look at Page 1 of this Forum - quite unbelievable! There are STILL 3 Threads there which are almost 22 hours old!

this

and they've made a big mistake doing CBB first. It's probably giving a false representation of what the proper series will be like. Theyre clearly just basing it around favoured celeb HMs. And pissing BB fans off.

I haven't watched an ep or hardly been here since launch. It's not even about livefeed anymore, it just sucks.

The majority of the UK haven't seen the US version though and shows like TOWIE are popular atm so BB UK has had to adapt to be more like these in order to stay in the game i.e freshen up.

Facebook, Twitter and Youtube are still easy and current ways of following the show. Yeah the Ch5 site might not be great and LF's been an issue this year but again for the majority of the UK Facebook, Twitter and YouTube suffice for any news and tidbits.

Both its editing style and extra news features have changed to relate to a younger audience than it did 10 years ago
