I know you work hard on these poems and that, mate, but I find this one a little offensive. Why are you telling people to forget (the majority of) Africa and focus on Britain? Sure, Britain's currently undergoing a few slight issues and that, which is considerable, but most of Africa's obviously where the major problems are. In fact, all third-world countries, I should say. They're the ones who struggle to find dirty water, never mind clean water; hardly ever have showers and are undergoing some serious drought issues, leaving plenty dead.
None of the above can be said about Britain. We have pretty much everything they don't. I'm not saying this to be rude, please don't take it the wrong way, but that comment was bang out of order, that. Other than that, I honestly don't mind your poems, so don't take it to heart - just saying. |

It's clear from his original post that the topic he wishes to discuss is the water restrictions in the UK - and the supposed 'drought'. The comment about 'forget Africa' - was a deliberate steer towards the dicussion being about the UK. Not Africa. It's not a thread comparing what those powers that be in the UK decide to call a drought vs the rest of the third world problems and how we should be so grateful for what we have. If you are trying to come over authorative and dogmatic, you've excelled yourself and done rather well with your post above. Waterhog isn't telling anyone anything: he has put up his own thoughts on the current UK situation - the UK. |

If people take offence to it - as many have said before - you don't have to take offence on their behalf - if you found it 'offensive' - that's why the report button is there I believe. It's a thread about the water situation in the UK. What do you think of that situation? What ideas do you have to tackle this issue? |

Africa was brought into it, with the statement regarding it I just happen to disagree with, so that's why I've talked about Africa. Ayway, as for me, I'm not even going to go any further into this argument. I've said my bit. It's entirely up to you what you want to do now. Your choice, not mine. |

I'm asking you what you think of the topic - what you think of the situation in the UK, how do you think it can be rectified, what options do you think are available etc. |
settle down dear
