It happens every day.

My view is I hope the forecast is wrong, the length and scale of this winter is really frightening.
I would worry about the long and short term implications of such extreme weather conditions both socially and economically.
Winter is exceptionally hard for the vulnerable, and although it's to be expected seasonally I wouldn't have thought anyone would seriously want any adverse weather to continue in fear of it impacting negatively as it is suggested in the Express article in the OP.

I may or may not make a snow angel, I haven't decided.

Can you please stop taking things the wrong way..

smudgie 14-11-2013 01:26 PM

I love a bit snow.

I do not however look forward to months and months of it.

Imagins all the schools shut down for weeks on end and the struggle people would have to get to work.

So, can I order the snow to start mid December and t can keep falling for a good month:hugesmile:

Except the possibility of the forecast in the OP isn't just a "bit of snow" is it?

Are you aware of the dangers of such harsh weather?

No but the discussion is about the possibility of this forecast being true is it not?

Enough of the pettiness, it's the same **** in nearly every topic and any more of it will be met with bans.

I love snow. It means days off school

Although last year we were the only school in the county that wasn't off for a day or two after it snowed.

Kazanne 14-11-2013 04:57 PM

I love the snow myself but selfishly for only the time I want it,we know if it's here for the long haul, people will suffer and die,and people driving will be at risk, and places will close etc.so in that scenario I don't think we'de all think it was much fun,but a sprinkling for the kids and some crispy days are ok with me.

 Not looking forward to any drops in temperature, it's cold enough already, I am going to have to stay in bed for weeks if it gets any colder. D:

Before the snow comes it's really cold but when snow falls, it's actualy a bit more warmer afterwards. (I love the white stuff, I actually love making Snow angles and just lay there for 5 min.after ,I am 28 years old. (Snow makes feel warm)

I love the fact when it's snow's, it never actually Dark, it's Pinky sky

I love talking my dog for walk at 11pm at night in snow, he loves, just like me ,
we are so connected, we love snow, we hate the Heat and He loves my food and he try give me his food too lol

if there a lot of snow, I loving seeing my dog, jump like Rabbit in the snow, I am clad My small dog was not white, would never found it early this year, in my Garden.

anyway
I don't expect to much snow next week, I can't see it being a lot, there maybe one to two sleet shower or even a dusting of snow.

Don't expect to snow next week, it's moslty just get some small snow showers or just sleet on low levels.

There may get some dusting next, I can't see UK coming to stand still next week.

Jauary on the other hand, is to watch out for, It's could worse then last year , to early to say!

I must admit, I get quite excited by a really big snowfall... It's the slouch and ice afterwards I detest.
In 2010 we had about 2-3 feet if snow from the end of November right through until January/February, and I have to say we spent the first few days moaning and asking ourselves what we were going to do.. But we got on with it and got used to it pretty quickly. We didn't even attempt to dig the car out for about for 4 weeks, the schools were all shut and we just had to walk everywhere.. We literally had no food for days and had to walk to my mums to get fed.. (Which was rather nice actually)
I do hope we get a decent snowfall.. But not one that lasts for months. Over Christmas if possible :)

smeagol 15-11-2013 02:12 PM

dont listen precious hobbitses its a trick. it will be sunny and hot do not fear smeg is here with news from mordor the eye sees all and we predict darkness followed by light no snow precious

[The coldest weather of the year so far
is set to hit swathes of the country
as Arctic winds bring flurries of snow
and widespread frost.
By Tuesday, large parts of the UK
could see wintry showers
with the
chance of some significant snowfall
on higher ground.]
