Yes UK charities are important of course they are, I highly doubt though anyone would forgo donating to their chosen charity this winter due to the fact they bought Sir Bobs charity single.

No, I won't be buying it. The UK is one of only a handful of countries who've stepped up to the plate over the ebola crisis, maybe Bob should be urging the French and the Germans and all the other countries twiddling their thumbs instead of giving aid, to buy his record as they've done little enough so far. The UK has already sent millions of pounds on top of the billions we already send abroad in foreign aid, and a Royal Navy ship has been sent along with troops and medics etc. As a country I think we've been exemplary so far and I have contributed to that through my tax. Any charity donations I give this Christmas will be going to help those in need in this country.

My Sentiments exactly Livia.

Your trust issues are a separate topic entirely. :idc:

Either way, it's certainly more useful than playing bowls. :hmph:

Yeah. How comes moronic 'Rock Stars' can get off their heads on drugs and drink, be as promiscuous as they want, punch press photographers, and do feck all for anyone but themselves, and it's ignored with no public recrimination, yet when a guy who does none of that crap tries to use his 'celebrity' status for charitable purposes, he is jumped on and lambasted, and his motives questioned?

Geldorf doesn't need 'second-hand' fame - he is already famous; been there, done it, bought the T shirt - and his motives are what he purports them to be.

Like you say, Marsh - it's certainly more useful than playing bowls.

Its totally contained to a few countries in one part of Africa. His money will make zero impact.

3 times as many children died today from hunger and disease than all the ebola deaths from this outbreak

Each week in China around 5000 odd people die in road deaths

about the same amount as all the deaths in this outbreak, next week the road deaths in china will be double that of ebola

I think he's had a hell of a lot on his mind this year, Give him some slack. He's probably doing things to take his mind off the happenings.

GypsyGoth 11-11-2014 10:26 PM

Nope I'm not going to buy it, I feel that I should care more about ebola, but I just don't. I'm not sure why.

I've seen a couple of pics of people with it, it's truly horrific. And I know there are thousands dying from it, however I believe there are millions who die globally from alcoholism. Where is the media hysteria for that?

But I don't even give to alcohol charities and that's something that is closer to home. Maybe I'm just not very charitable.
