Default Will you buy Bob Geldof's Ebola song?

Bob Geldof is to release of a fourth version of the Band Aid charity single, Do They Know It's Christmas to raise money to tackle Ebola as just over 5000 have died in a specific part of Africa.

Are you going to buy it or do you think he should perhaps try and solve some problems in the UK?

Yes - I believe in St. Bob and his good causes. I'll just put it with ball the other Band Aid singles I have.

"Each winter, 1 older person dies needlessly every 7 minutes from the cold - that’s 200 deaths a day that could be prevented.

As we get older, our bodies respond differently to the cold – increasing the likelihood of a heart attack, stroke, pneumonia, and breathing difficulties. Of the winter deaths that happen every year, 9 in 10 are older people.

Over half a million older people spend Christmas Day alone."

http://www.ageuk.org.uk/get-involved...ad-the-warmth/

Age UK estimates that 1.7 million older people in the UK can’t afford to heat their homes, and over a third (36%) of older people in the UK say they live mainly in one room to save money.

Cold weather adds to the financial worries of older people. 30% say they avoid heating rooms like the bedroom, bathroom or living room because they are worried about the cost.

His "cause" seems to be third world countries, big deal? that's what he wants to raise money for, they're a whole lot worse off over there than people in Britain are. It's a sad state of affairs when someone gets criticized for trying to do something good.

Song has been done to death

Why is he jumping on the same old record a charity song for some African cause...please give it a rest.

why doesnt he get a proper hairstyle

We are already giving money for Ebola aid as well as our Govt giving millions in foreign aid to Africa.

No, I won't be buying it. The UK is one of only a handful of countries who've stepped up to the plate over the ebola crisis, maybe Bob should be urging the French and the Germans and all the other countries twiddling their thumbs instead of giving aid, to buy his record as they've done little enough so far. The UK has already sent millions of pounds on top of the billions we already send abroad in foreign aid, and a Royal Navy ship has been sent along with troops and medics etc. As a country I think we've been exemplary so far and I have contributed to that through my tax. Any charity donations I give this Christmas will be going to help those in need in this country.

What's so wrong with him wanting to help end a disease resulting in the deaths of thousands? Yes, there are bigger issues.. a lot of which we could solve between ourselves.. but one thing at a time.

Whatever other countries and their citizens do or don't do is not our concern is it?

We are aiding to ensure the virus is contained, that is far more proactive than closing borders for me.
Yes UK charities are important of course they are, I highly doubt though anyone would forgo donating to their chosen charity this winter due to the fact they bought Sir Bobs charity single.
