Aww guys I'm sorry you were disappointed! :conf: It was more or less exactly how I expected, it reminded me a lot of Streetmate which isn't surprising as it's one of Brian's favourite shows!

I really enjoyed it (but then, I would! lol), it made me laugh and I thought it was really good fun! It was lovely to see him with his own show on ITV1 - even if it was a bit late! It's not bad going to get a 13 week run for your first solo project (especially as an exBB contestant!) but above all it was lovely to see him in adult mode. It's been utterly fantastic to see him for 2 hours every Saturday morning for the last 16 months virtually without a break, but so nice that we now get to see him being as sweet and funny as ever with a bit of naughtiness thrown in!

Excuse some of us if we get a bit excited to see Brian doing so well, it's not really any different to the threads I read on other housemates which go on for pages and pages without getting buried or stopped short with some negative comment. Let's hope no one decides to throw cold water on the thread praising whatever Helen's much-vaunted next project may be, (however short or naff it may be, some of us will still actually be pleased for her) for example. If they do, it certainly won't be me.:bawling:

I'm not knocking anyone, god knows I've defended TiBB to some very unpleasant people in the past, but sometimes it seems like people are desperate for Brian to fall flat on his face so they can gloat. I really didn't think this was that sort of place at all, I thought all that was left behind on TBB.:conf:

The name Brians Boyfriends was enough to put me off, I didn't even see it. Sorry! Nothing against Brian the title just sounded naff. :conf:

I've done some screenshots from the show, and added them to the gallery.

By the way, that guy being madeover reminded me of someone famous. He's awfully familliar looking. But I can't think who. It's been annoying me.

Mike McClean (used to be on the Big Breakfast)

Phew. That's a relief.

Ig, I don't think anyone here wants Brian to fall flat on his face.

As you know I'm not a huge Brian fan, but that doesn't mean I don't want his new show to do well, I think it is fantastic that that an ex-bb conterstant is being given this opportunity on ITV1 and I really hope he does well.

I didn't stay up to watch the show, and probably won't in future as I'm not a fan and it is very late, but when he gets something more primetime I'm sure I'll tune in and watch and give him my support.

(note I said when and not if)

Thanks for your support as well, all of us at TiBB appreciate it.

No, Ig, I don't want Brian's show to fail at all. I want entertaining, and I haven't seen it yet, but if it's entertaining I'll certainly watch it. even though he wasn't my favourite either.

The thing is we feel we know all these people don't we, so it's not as easy to be objective.

I'll remember to set my tape next week.

Ig, we very much appreciate your support, please don't be disillusioned :bawling:

We're lovely we are:spin2:

Honest!

Sorry Ig, I really wish I'd remembered to watch Brian's show. I certainly would have done if I had.
I'll try to catch it next week. I agree that Brian will be suited more to a late night show than kiddy TV and I look forward to giving it a go.

I'll let you know what I think when I've watched it.

now now

im sure cc100 didnt mean it in a nasty way, i think he just meant that its a bit odd for a kids presenter to host a late night show.

they usuall only put shows on that late if there poor or are rude, but surely club reps on at 10.30 is ruder?

BusyBee 29-05-2003 02:54 PM

Sorry Ig, although Brian was never my favourite I really wish him well. I just thought the programme didnt do him justice.

But as I said it was only the first programme so could get better.

Thanks for your responses folks. Yes ROB, I agree, the vast majority of people here ARE lovely! Like I said I wasn't having a pop at anyone in particular (well maybe one or two!!) and I don't expect everyone to like Brian - or the show come to that! It just seems that sometimes a few people deliberately try to cause trouble and it gets me down sometimes.

Anyway - it can't be that bad because Channel 4 are already planning an identical show! (Called Men In Pink - cover your eyes Steve!):spin2:

In today's 3am

BUBBLING BRIAN HAS A SPLITTING HEADACHE

WE'RE beginning to think Brian Dowling has put a curse on the couples of Britain.

Disaster hit the relentlessly bubbly TV presenter last week when he was due to film a pair of lovers for his new ITV1 makeover show, Brian's Boyfriends.

The night before he set off to surprise the boyfriend, the girlfriend rang producers to say she had just found out he was having an affair.

They had to cancel the show which, needless to say, left the series with a massive hole. Producers and Brian spent the next day frantically trying to find another couple.

Brian told us, "It was terrible. I felt so sorry for the girl, what a time to find out."

Nothing, it depends entirely on their skin tone I feel.............

BusyBee 10-06-2003 10:43 AM

OH has a rather fetching pink shirt that he wears with a very tasteful navy suit with matching navy and pink tie - and he looks pretty good in it - but then I may be biased:blush::shocked:

BTW has anyone seen anymore of the Brian's Boyfriends shows. I watched the first, and just wondered if they have improved.
