Would much rather this than Celebs vs Civilians (though Live Feed will be needed). Obviously it's not perfect and a switch to a different (US or AU) format would be better but at least it's not speeding up the process of Celebrity Big Brother eventually taking over the civilian version.

"According to the paper, a pair of relatives could secretly be split up and placed on opposite sides of the divide"

They're not saying that all the housemates in one house will have a relative in the other house, just that maybe there will be one pair of relatives.

Maybe we have to guess who is related to who? Like BBAU9 matching the housemate to the secret idk

"Mum... I'm going in Big Brother this year!"

"Oh that's nice dear, so's your sister! Have a lovely time"

BTW, I don't know/remember if it has been done somewhere else on launch nights, but in Israel they did something along those lines (just without a second house).
They originally went on putting 15 housemates in the house, but while they were filming one of the young female contestant's VT, they also interviewed her dad which turned out to be quite an unusual old character and they asked him to secretly enter the house without his daughter's knowledge.
He was the last one to enter the house as the launch twist.
It was really good, and yet again it depends on the hms' personalities (and the 2nd house thing), it might as well fall flat.

Rob! 27-05-2016 11:32 AM

It all depends on the casting and what they then decide to do with the cast. The worrying thing is that we all loved the start of last year but it wasn't reflected in the ratings. All the Twitter and Facebook knobs were going "wahhhh its borin weres the fgts no argumnts not gnna wtch" and then it all went to **** from there.

daniel-lewis-1985 29-05-2016 02:22 PM

This wont work obviously the relatives will tell each other they've been chosen as housemates, secondly they don't go into hiding soon enough so that was probably read by half the new housemates and thirdly the walls are paper thin I also agree why put relatives in a new house the whole point would be to se the dynamics which from past experience when relatives have entered hasn't been that gripping if anything they should have a house full of exes or rivals .

Marsh. 29-05-2016 02:24 PM

Not here for Big Brother: Ex in the House.

daniel-lewis-1985 29-05-2016 02:26 PM

Well it would caus emore entertainment than Jackie Travers and Charlie or Jem and Faye.

Now maybe an over protective dad and daughter would be interesting but usually it just ends up with the housemates not being able to have fun and getting told off by their parents which as a viewer is enraging.

Headie 29-05-2016 03:05 PM

Charlie/Jackie and Jem/Faye were interesting storylines to watch tho

VanessaFeltz. 29-05-2016 03:07 PM

Acceptable twist. If they dont make any other twists this season and we have online live feeds i would really like this season

If Nick and Phil of all people managed not to tell the other they'd been cast...
