Okay that's a quote but where's the context or meaning relating to the subject at hand?

It's just another case of people preaching about freedom of speech but only as long as it benefits them.

im not outraged just increasingly depressed that the Far Right are being handed election victories in the future as no one is allowed to address issues that involve immigrants/refugees without bring called racist, we need to weed out these people who seek to abuse the hospitality of the country that takes them in by assaulting women. If I were a law abiding refugee I would want these people who are tarring me returned asap to where they came from, wouldn't you?

It's nothing to do with free speech. I'm just tired of that kind of attitude coming up every time a topic like this comes up for discussion.

So is there a particular type of man or ethnicity we are allowed to discuss attacking women, or are any attacks on women by men a no go?

You can discuss middle eastern men attacking people BUT only if you use it as evidence that the countries they come from are primitive and violent, or to support Brexit / reduced immigration / dehumanisation of asylum seekers.

You can also discuss men and / or women of miscellaneous ethnicities being involved in attacks if it was mentioned in the Daily Mail or The Sun. Otherwise no go.

I mean it's been reported on atleast 3 news outlets. We can't deny that it's happened. You can't deny that it's a big problem and it's happening more and more often with mass migration from Arab countries and infact the migrants are the perpetrators:shrug:
We can't deny that women aren't treated with respect in those countries.
I mean we could just put our fingers in our ears and pretend it's not happening so we can look like the bastion of a tolerant society but that won't solve the problem. It's not racist to condemn sexual assault just because it's gangs of migrants who are doing it.It is ok speak out against it still...I think.Unless there's another EU policy i'm unaware of.

Even if that's what I was doing, which it is not, is it lower than using 18 year old girls being sexually assaulted to "point score" in a game of told-u-so Brexit wars?

Who is doing that? Where on this thread did anyone say anything about Brexit?

It's more or less constant, on here, in the media, wherever you happen to look.

So you're just making assumptions about what people will say on the subject and thinking for them. Wow.

All opinions come with consequences, if someone calls another person a racist when they aren't then it's down to them to stand their ground and tell them why they are wrong.

I believe that people should not be tarred with the same brush, I believe the rapists should face the full extent of the law but I don't think it's fair to the victims that their ordeal becomes political ammunition to target a whole group of innocent people.

Yes, SD and News.

Not "gossip and tabloid rants".

Of course it's news and it should be discussed, I just wish we had a section where these stories could be discussed rationally and we could really go into the world's issues in rational detail, rather than the foot-stomping "outrage", pitchforks and hysteria.

The only foot stamping and hysterics is in what you said to derail the conversation.

Making a joke isn't exactly a good example of 'foot stamping and hysterics.' If you want examples of them then look no further than some of these posts.

Oh sorry were you baiting folks by implying they are bigots? I like you but sometimes I'm disappointed.

And actually I'm going to add that this subject isn't funny.

You obviously don't understand your own example.

It's a shame users can't put a forum mod on ignore.

So was I making flippant jokes and not taking it seriously, or was it foot stomping hysterics?

Well I don't know that foot stomping and hysterics are the right words really but those were the ones thrown out there so I went with them.

Let's just say it came over as disrespectful and leave it at that. Although maybe foot stomping could apply, I'm struggling to decide.

Aand there it is, a mention of the fact that I'm a mod. Wondered how long that would take.

I understand perfectly, it's not exactly hard to grasp is it?

It must be hard to grasp if you think I'm hysterical.

Being unable to mute a mod is just a fact unfortunately. If you could I wouldn't have to read all the personal remarks.
