They'll probably use it as a lead in with BB airing March-May and Love Island airing June-August.

Using an emmerdale to Corrie comparison when Emmerdale has won best soap at the majority of events this past year? :joker:

But I agree BB would be cute on ITV.

I don't see another channel buying it now, maybe in the future. it does need a bit of a break

Its extremely hopeful but I really hope there's a break given and then C4 grabs it bc they no longer have a flagship show

T* 28-06-2017 04:39 PM

And it's obvious by C4 trying (and FLOPPING) to get the Host of The Week thing up and running (until y'know it was cancelled after one episode) that they want to get the spark they used to have from shows of the likes of Friday/Sunday Night Project... they might want the spark of BB back?
Highly unlikely but y'know

T* 28-06-2017 04:41 PM

I always used to think C4 would never touch it again too but I'm having second thoughts

If they wait a few years and reboot it with a more back to basics (or BB6-10 kind of feel) I can see it bringing them success.

Get a diverse cast (yes, more diverse than a few ethnics and 85% reality to stars ala BB18), a great graphical front (eye, promo and House), an interesting sub theme (not too prominent that it takes up everthing like Timebomb, but enough to be known, subtle) and they have a winner. In my eyes, C5 could achieve this and they proved they could at the start. It went downhill with the subtitles.

A year before LI 2.0 launched as well, LI might not exist today if they'd snatched it!

R.Eye.P 2.0 ha rise from the dead - back to the grave.

I'd love to see C4 take it back in a few years and give it some amazing promo since it'd be coming back home. Emma was around in the C4 days so they'd probably want to keep her on though they can replace Rylan

Tbh i'd want Emma as BBLB host and Davina to return as normal host
I don't know why they got rid of her on BOTS

Davina said she quit because she'd already mentally said goodbye to the show and had other projects lined up.

I recon that channel 5 will announce that the contract isnt being renewed with Endemol. I dont know if they can pull it until that contract is up. It wouldn't surprise me if they dont kill big b off to replace its time slot with their love island/ex on the beach style show. Either way its pretty clear the show is heading towards getting axed and they dont care about ratings/fans opinions, Its been a terrible series, they are down from 1.5 million viewers on average to around 800,000. One of the episodes last week had the lowest views so far of any series on C5 They will axe the civilian series and keep the celeb for a few years i recon. Im surprised Emma Willis still wants to do it to be honest and hasn't quit as going off of some of the interviews she has done regarding the show the last few years she doesnt seem to like the direction the producers have taken big b. I recon we need one more year where they change the production team and go back to basics with the house/housemates/rules. If C5 do choose to axe it after that then i think it should go on A 5-10 year break so that when it comes back it all feels fresh and new again.

C4 could bring it back in like 2020 for the 20th anniversary

I don't see why not I never watch anything on Channel 4 now except Gogglebox they don't have any good shows on.

I think they're pitching Crystal Maze as a flagship now, but yeah, they need a live show with some spectacle. Million Pound Drop could be due a revival too, honestly.

If we lose BB for Survivor, and they do Survivor well, that's probably this best of both worlds. It's more difficult to make Survivor look so tacky.

Samm 28-06-2017 05:57 PM

it's pretty clear, the timing and scheduling of new shows before it, tbh this was kinda the length I expected it to last on C5

Captain.Remy 28-06-2017 06:34 PM

This is a worlwide situation for Big Brother.
Many countries stopped airing it, others moved it to different obscure channels etc...etc...

BB UK is no different, and regardless of whether they 'go back to basics' or not, the format in itself is getting tired throughout the years due to new reality tv show types (semi-scripted formats around the world)

To be fair, it's not only BB, but other shows like The Voice (singing contests in general) and stuff. First reality tv formats are getting old to the advantage of newer formats.

DanielM787 28-06-2017 06:37 PM

I mean they could possibly ditch it, but still waiting for the day for Simon to axe X Factor

SteveG2688 28-06-2017 07:10 PM

Again i think they need to put the show on hiatus like how Canada have with their big brother. I think the show could be great again but it needs a rest for a good few years and come back refreshed and raring to go.

Alf 28-06-2017 07:13 PM

It was meant to be reality TV.

But like anything were money is involved, people got greedy. And greedy programme makers started to only think of the money and not the output that gave them success in the first place.

Most people don't like being taken for mugs, and that's what they did, by editing it the way they wanted it to be and not the reality it was.

I understand people used to get annoyed with the 24 hour live feed, because of the bird noises and what not. But the live feed was the best thing about it.

Like you have said the way they edit this show is pretty bad. A few housemates have come out now and said over the C5 years that they make you look bad and only air things that can make you seem like you are being one type of person (eg if they want you to look moany they only show your moany bits). I think that is the reason why there is no live feed for C5 as they manipulate the footage for entertainment reasons. Big Brother is no longer a reality tv show.

The writing has been on the wall for a couple of years now, but this series' figures has to be the final nail. It makes me so angry because C5 have since the very beginning shown such disdain for the civilian series and overexposed their beloved ****ing CBB, like cutting the former's length to accommodate another unnecessary series of the latter, more live feed for CBB, more promotion, it's just a ****ing joke.

The worst part of it for me is that we're going to come so close to the 20th series and not make it  and despite the fact that they seem happy to do CBB All Star type series, I honestly don't think they'll bother with the civilian? It will just go out with a whimper, exactly how they intended it

Endemol should be stressing that it's a package deal (like they did in 2011) but honestly I don't even think they care anymore

Is that BB or CBB? I know they tried to in 2006/maybe 2011 but I didn't realise they did so recently

Yeah there's a guardian article about ITV wanting to buy BB and CBB. It was deffo 2014 because it had a picture of Ashleigh () at the BB15 launch
