Say whatever you want and I will comment when I see fit

3 to 5 hrs to process 1000s of people, if you maintain some perspective that's not long at all, they were screened for sometimes incurable diseases such as smallpox at the time.
Those being examined were so by docs that spoke their language if posible, were offered the chance to purchase a boxed lunch, and if they were detained for any reason given 3 meals a day for free.
To my mind that is as humane and fair as is possible when dealing with a huge influx of people.
Just remind me why this is relevant to the op again..

...’if people are coming here to get away from their own country...what they need to do is to go back to their own country and help straighten it out...’...is basically what Trump said to the congresswomen...this is the influence that the President of the USA is having on his country...it’s no coincidence that others are using his language and thinking its acceptable to do so...prejudice must be fine because its what our leader preaches...a terribly hard watch is seeing Kathy Hayman...hearing her voice break as she gets so upset with Jean Cramer basically saying ‘her family is wrong’......this is not the ‘law of God’ as Jean seems to think...this is the law of the prejudice of human beings...her words and thoughts are filled with many things but they’re completely absent of God...

do some research Kizzy instead of pulling 'facts' out of thin air

https://www.history.com/news/immigra...rocessing-time

It varied from person to person, but for 80 percent, the process took a few hours, and then they were out and through,” he says. “But it could also take a couple days, a couple weeks, a couple months or, in some very rare cases, a couple of years.”

There are some harrowing accounts published on the Island itself about families being torn apart because grandparents were too old or to sick. disabled people etc

the land of the free eh?

its as relevant as the comment about the Handmaids Tale but you took no issue with that?

Like I said to Girth, I will leave it at 'wow that's awful' in future …..

I got my information from the same source you did cherie, you really do seem to be labouring this point and I'm still at a loss as to how you've linked it to the comments made in maryville...
As I said there would have to be limitations on entry to protect the lives of others that's just common sense, for me the decisions based on health are more acceptable a reason than those based on colour.
Secondly your point seems to only question the health related procedures immigrants undertook, it says nothing of the attitudes towards those arriving does it, therefore again how does it relate?

Like girth I wasn't part of the handmaids tale conversation, I don't watch it so would know the relevance should there be one.

And cherie wow this is awful... it's not 1907 anymore, this isn't an immigration issue, the blacks referred to in the OP won't be immigrants any longer but 3rd 4th generation American, like the congresswoman so maligned by Trump.

This is the division being sown, some just refuse to differentiate between black immigrants and black Americans.
That's partly down to trump so I won't apologise for making thst connection, look at your comment, you made this an immigration issue, why?

The topic relates to black Americans...not immigrants, I hope I've made that clear enough.

Again with the Handsmaid tales? You were talking about how many episodes you'd seen and one of the characters revenge arc werent you? Not on topic, but also not the same as making a completely irrelevant point about immigration.

I struggle to understand what you were trying to say
Were you trying to put the current discrimination in perspective bc it used to happen before? I dont get how it makes it acceptable now?
Not to mention that this is not about immigration but people of colour who are citizens of America
