Not the voice for black people at all, just reminding my fellow whites that just because we might not find something ‘that racist’ doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect black people just as much as the ‘more serious racism’

That is ironic actually.

Tbf though it's his opinion, I personally think any race can have an opinion on any issue they want, even if the opinion might be something you disagree with.

Personally I think Piquet should at least face a warning for his comment by whoever he is currently working for, maybe even a suspension, but I don't know if I support his life being tarnished irreparably like what tends to happen nowadays.

Imo educating these people is the way to go, but maybe that's too rational in 2022?

Tbf I never said that it doesn't affect Lewis Hamilton in this particular case, and personally speaking I've never liked the treatment that Hamilton has received in F1 by some of the fans.

I just think that witch hunting people because they say horrible things could lead to a slippery slope in the future, I just think it's important that legally speaking we have a hierarchy of how severe a crime is.

Because I think the fact that this country is more willing to give a second chance to rapists than they would be Piquet is ****ed up imo.

i stand with Nelson on this

maybe he shouldn't have said the N word, ok

he has very good points, Hamilton always acts like a stupid crybaby when things aren't going his way

even his former teammate Bottas dislikes him, especially the way how he has been used as a pawn for him

The whole thing is about him using the N word

Beso 29-06-2022 09:55 AM

I have changed my mind on this, I think piquet was being racist.

And what now?

Should people in powerful positions in life go about the action of controlling everybody else's mindset because Mr Piquet used a racist term?

Oh no, certainly not.

Hamiltin should deal with this personally and not lump everyone in the same bracket.

Cherie 29-06-2022 02:10 PM

He has apologised and said the word he used was mistranslated

Make of that what you will

Tbf in F1 nobody is as much of a crybaby as Verstappen, but I bet Piquet wouldn't call him slurs or any random insults because we're meant to support the brat according to the media.

poor Michael Masi getting worked out just because Mercedes didn't want him anymore

well thank you FIA for new car rules, and Verstappen is getting support from Leclerc in terms of not changing anything anymore for this season, since Sainz and Russell complained about too much shaking in the cars

Lewis Hamilton has called for "older voices" with offensive views to be refused a platform on which to make comments.

His plea came after Nelson Piquet made a racist remark about him, and following provocative remarks from Bernie Ecclestone about Vladimir Putin.

Mercedes driver Hamilton said: "Discrimination is not something we should be giving a platform.

"We need people to be bringing people together."

He added: "We are all the same and the comments we are seeing are not helpful."

Hamilton's remarks come in the context of triple world champion Piquet using a racially offensive term to refer to the seven-time champion in a podcast that emerged this week.

So lets have no discrimination, but don't let the old folks talk

Hamilton prefers the Nazi method of dealing with situations.

The reason he wants to use the method of silencing them is because he doesn't believe he can beat them in debate. He believes that he should have a platform for his opinion but they shouldn't for theirs and rather than debate them he believes people should have a higher power to silence oposing opinions to his.

Lewis Hamilton has criticised spectators at the Austrian Grand Prix for cheering when he crashed in qualifying at the Red Bull Ring.

Hamilton went off at Turn Seven, close to grandstands packed with Dutch fans of his 2021 title rival Max Verstappen.

"I was going through a bunch of stuff in the crash, but to hear it afterwards you know... I don't agree with any of that, no matter what," he said.

"A driver could have been in hospital, and you are going to cheer that?"

The incident left Hamilton 10th in qualifying, although he was promoted to ninth on the grid for Saturday's sprint event after a penalty for Red Bull's Sergio Perez.

Tbf I'll be surprised if Hamilton couldn't beat a guy that uses the n-word about that particular word and why it's wrong to use it.

Didn't Piquet allegedly also use homophobic language about Hamilton as well?

Personally I wouldn't silence him on it, but I do think he should be aware that freedom of speech works both ways and that some people rightly won't like him calling Hamilton the n-word.

I feel the same - though it wasn’t a crash as such .. he just kinda slid sideways into the padded barriers .. very slight, if any , car damage . There was never any chance of injury - the cars are uber safe these days anyways

Thankfully it ended up not being too bad.

But I do honestly think that some Hamilton & Verstappen fans are taking the rivalry to an unhealthy level.

James 10-07-2022 06:03 PM

Cheering crashes is cynical, in my opinion.

They simply do not like each other at all

Maybe Hamilton simply isn’t used to someone standing up to him ..

He complains a lot about Max but he’s made the exact same ‘risky moves himself against other drivers -throughout his whole career .

What goes round ... comes round
