No need to fall out about it either in all honesty. What's so hard in just understanding that some have feelings about this and being cool with that?

You're missing the point? To the fans, and there are huge numbers of them, it's every bit as devastating as Prince, MJ, Elvis, whoever you care to name?

Yes, and I acknowledge that. But it's sad within the fandom, but not a cultural event. That's all I am saying... So it doesn't need to be mentioned in the house.

This is in no way me devaluing how the fans feel about it.

Honestly, I am not one of the ones picking a fight with you here. I am saying respect your feelings on it.

Yes Vesavius. I see that you are not at all being disrespectful to myself I do.

In my eyes though it is a cultural event.

That's the only point in which we differ.

But, I know it's still raw and emotions are high about it so I'm not interested in making you or anyone else feel worse about it than you do so I am good with leaving it at that :)

it may be but to try and make an equivalence is plainly ridiculous

Why?

One Direction were huge. Massive. Worldwide.

Why are people negating this? It doesn't have to be your sort of music to recognise as such.

Honestly!

I personally don’t think they should be told.. but i wouldn’t put it past them to do so for “shock value” which is what it would be at the end of the day

UserSince2005 17-10-2024 09:52 AM

Shame there isnt a Housemate called Liam who they can pretend has died.

Niamh. 17-10-2024 09:53 AM

Why? It's sad and all but he's just a celebrity, none of them knew him I presume

In the past when celebrities have died Big Brother has been okay with telling the housemates. Even other Celebrity news has often been told to housemates in the past in tasks and such. BB8 they told them that Umbrella by Rihanna was no1 for however many weeks lol.

Like who? I know they found out about David Bowie but that was only because of the David's dead mix up and they only told Angie because she was his ex wife and the father of her son

No chance, they shouldn't have been told about MJ either

world of difference between Michael Jackson and Liam Payne tbf, was that the only time? I think it would be a bit gratuitous to tell them just so they could be upset for entertainment value, something would feel a bit off about that imo

Yeah I can’t think of any other times but also cannot think of any other shocking celeb deaths that have occurred whilst BB was filming.

I remember during BB6 they didn’t tell the housemates about the London Bombings.

smudgie 17-10-2024 10:16 AM

No.
The only time it was relevant was when Bowie died.

Believe it or not.

But still they should not be made aware

Lostie! 17-10-2024 10:25 AM

No. It's shocking but it's nothing they need to be told about, it doesn't affect any of them personally. They were only told about Michael Jackson in BB10 because Federico mentioned it already.

Well it made for arguably the most referenced moment in entire BBUK history.

Ray. 17-10-2024 10:38 AM

I don't think I'd go that far lol
