This happened in the local park of my little random town. It has benches named after people, donated by the deceased families. They havnt been painted over yet.

But this is what a young lesbian(fact) girl did on the path next to the play area.

The bench was clearly not even to do with pride, and it’s pretty obvious from the plaque. Hard to see on the image below but it’s the ‘Happy to Chat’ bench (you can see the plaque better online in images, I couldn’t get one to upload clearly on here).

The vandals are either just really thick (and unable to read) thinking it was pride or are just pointless vandals.

Either way, not sure what they achieved with it. Hope it made them feel better about themselves when they went back to their pointless lives afterwards.

not being funny, but benches are vandalised, sprayed with graffiti every single day. I'm talking about memorial benches all over the country. Where is the outrage for that?

Ah..probably the local council paint department painted over it as to not offend the new arrivals.

Crazy illistration to have for mental health well being..a rainbow with a silver cloud hanging about at the end.....like the imaginary pot gold.. that's saying life's going to end disappointingly cause the silver cloud ain't going to be at the end..cause you never get to the end.

Gay people need to take it in turns to sleep on the bench to protect the rainbow

The rainbow has long been a symbol for faith, or hope or guidance.

Its proven that homophobes have lower levels of cognitive intelligence, so I imagine it's this.

Has nothing to do with Pride. I thought it was made pretty clear in the thread…

It’s everyone’s job to protect the rainbow.

For further clarity for you, a pride rainbow has six colours whereas a run of the mill rainbow has 7.

I guess the hetero that did this, missed the memo.

"That bench was placed there to promote mental wellbeing"

who writes this type of gobbledygook??

absolute rubbish and an insult to adults with a modicum of intelligence

Yes, sent by god. One I doubt you believe in.

Crimson Dynamo 06-07-2025 05:07 PM

the images show a bench that is pre painting at the bottom and one that has been painted at the top

not painted over

not even the same bench

They are benches that have a sign which helps promote strangers talking to one another. If you’re a lonely old man and you sit on one people would know you’re wanting. A conversation, or at least don’t parking in one, and are more likely to talk to you. It’s just a way to try and get strangers to converse with one another. If you’re someone who doesn’t see many people all day one single conversation could mean the world.

A rainbow is literally an optical illusion which people have used for symbolism. For you it’s a sign from God, for me it’s something else. That’s the great thing about life is that we can have different beliefs than each other about the same thing.

As stated previously the bench with the rainbow on isn’t the exact same bench but is the same TYPE of bench and was used for illustrative purposes.

Glenn. 06-07-2025 05:12 PM

Remember guys, it’s not a pride bench. Y’all allowed to be outraged about this public vandalism

Glenn. 06-07-2025 05:14 PM

Didn’t the thread about a statue of thatcher being egged get bumped today? Reading through that, public vandalism is frowned upon by certain members. I wonder why this hasn’t received the same condemnation.

For me your last shite is symbolic of some of your posting history. See: different beliefs about the same thing.

You can't equate the glory of Maggie, and het statue to some mouldy old bird shot splatters park bench in some back end hell hole.

Unless you're on TIBB, obviously.:blush::hehe:
