consider also the pictures we see on our news daily from Burma, pictures and video taken on mobile phones and sent to foreign news agencies, most notably the BBC. We can see the horrifiuc thuggery and the crackdown being imposed on peaceful demonstrators.

If that was Britain today - the local party official would be able to find out not only who sent the pictures and video, but their location when they sent them. and before you know it they are spirited away, by jackbooted thugs to the same fate as the Buddhist monks

No more pictures to foreign press
No more truth leaking out about the state of Burma

All quiet on the Eastern front

So thats all right then.

i think this is a good thing really:bigsmile: the safety of this country is importat and terrorism is very real. anythin which can help prevent that has got to be good id thought:puzzled: what if ten thousand people say (bomb, explosives, terrorism, nuclear, etc) on the phone? are you expecting each and evry one of them to get a knock on their front door - dont thinks so:laugh: dont thinks so:laugh: this is just the papers tryin to scare us all id thought. Im sure they can quite easily do this to us but realy man, do you expect it to change our lives, dont thinks so, no way man.

i dont think it would be any diff no matter who was in power anyroads:rolleyes: tories or labour liberal bnp greens it wouldnt make any diff - i think it just happens in parliament

also, if i was a terrorist i would get round all this anyway, hehehe - just use some kissylittlemissy logic:wink: id pass messages on by a courier and in code and i know it may take hours or a day to get the message passed on but if that means resorting to old style communication then so so so, thats tough tootie to them, hehe:bigsmile: i would also pass on information and use words like (meat and potato and twit-ter-woo) instead of (bombs, explosives, etc) that would easily sort out the new scheme that the govern introduces and if a cute girl like me:cat: can work out such a simple ideas then this big plan of the governments is really stupid and silly

i also suspect that this tapping of phones and the internet is for other reasons, just them being nosey in our life, just makes us all have to be more careful and clever. i thought theyd guess that but if they cant and i can then well, well well:bigsmile:

Do you actually think someone will be sat down listening to EVERY single individual conversation? No, no they won't. They won't have the time or the resources to such a thing.

Besides - if you're talking about Hollyoaks, your friends' new hairstyle, or who you bumped into on the highstreet today, then you've got nothing to worry about do you? Do you think Joe "Government Employee" Bloggs will give a damn? This is hypochondria gone mad. :laugh2:

So what exactly happens if you're found to be talking about something you shouldn't? Do you have the police knocking on your door soon after? Personally I think it'll cause more harm than good...

A lot of perfectly innocent people with no intentions of causing harm, could end up in some form of trouble for having a PRIVATE conversation of a specific nature. Purely because the person listening in doesn't understand socially how those two people are communicating with eachother...resulting in them taking the words seriously.

Also, I think we need a News channel that reports all things like this and those similar. I'm not aware if this has been on the News or not, but plenty of negative changes and topics in todays world are ignored by mainstream News, and left for the odd documentary on channel 4 if we're lucky and random websites on the internet.

If more people were made aware, perhaps more would disagree.

Question is, where will it all end? as police struggle more and more to capture criminals, and crime rates rise, are they just going to invent and rely on more and more technology to do their jobs for them? It's going to end up with microchips and CCTV in our homes at this rate. Or curfew's on the entire country to be indoors by a certain time =/ it's just getting steadily more ridiculous.

What you say about news channels is very true. Perhaps the scariest thing of all. As you say people need to be properly informed instead of brainwashed according to party lines. News channels cave in to censirship themselves. I have heard a news reporter say we have free speech "BUT". The addition of a "BUT" means we do not have free speach.

New laws regarding religious hatred so called. As people will not generally understand what the law is they will play safe and bullied out of fear by the law into not saying what they feel...

Modern Governments are a disgrace. Modern polititions are a disgrace. Modern news reporting is a disgrace....Peoples apathy is a disgrace.....
