I think it'd keep more people happy if they gradually built up the decorations etc early, then as soon as it hits December 1st they go all out =]

Some places already do that, but not everywhere.

I think it's quite sad when people start to put up their Christmas decorations in October/November. They're usually the ones who end up taking them down on Boxing Day though.

A few hints of Christmas now is fine in the T.V adverts like jingling bells in the background or red ribbons on sofas (I know that already on 1)

Yes i agree with that. As even though i like the build up i don't really like it this early.

Soon enough we will start having christmas decorations in the middle of the summer:rolleyes:.

But i think it's o.k now but i'm just worried that it might go a bit TOO early.

I think November is alright,October annoys me. Christmas doesn't seem far away at all for me because my concerts in just under 4 weeks and then another 2 weeks after! So by the time all thats over I'll concertate on Christmas and it'll be the 17th of December by then!

Lighten up... if people want to start preparing for Christmas in October/November, why should we be there to stop them?

I love Christmas. This year my town was the first in the UK to turn on its Christmas lights! BALLYMENA!!! woooo :hello: I think it should be longer and longer.

To be fair, it's usually shops/towns focusing on Christmas in October, very few people put up their decorations then...

Even hardcore Christmas fanatics who put up lots of lights etc, are usually spending the entire October and part of November months preparing their lights etc.

But as I said, the end of October = around the 300/365 days in the year mark, which really isn't that bad.

It just sounds bad because it's technically two months before, which sounds "too" much to some people. Whereas it really is almost the end of the year, day wise.

I also don't picture it getting any earlier...
Some people might start really early, but we'll never become so mad that we're celebrating it in summer lol. Plus if you actually look at all the houses and towns, it's never "full on" with houses decorated everywhere and the towns etc until December anyway.

In November it's usually the odd few houses dotted around with fairylights, with a few little tree's on the walls downtown, and some tinsel in shops.
