The thing is, some people said it's a mistake and some said it was correct. I can accept when I make a mistake but this time it's a big confusion, that's all. And I still upset the way it happened, there was no need to expose that here or call everybody on msn in order to show that. I know it was in order to help me, I'm not stupid, but the thing is, during 10 years nobody told me "I'm gone" was wrong, even now, and I know that I can use "I've been" (I know my irregular verbs perfectly lol ). My parents, both speak english fluently, I told them and 3 of my british exchanges, and there is no problem about it. Maybe it's not so english, but I still think you can use that. So now I hope you understand me better than yesterday and my reasons why I was so upset.
By the way, thank you everyone here cause you told me I have a awesome English, and sometimes better than some people on the forum, I'm really glad. Thanks ! |
Yeah, i feel sad about it too, it was a huge confusion, and im really sorry Remy, isent you a couple of u2us as well

Re the Babel fish thing http://babelfish.altavista.com/
I have been using that for ages for a round in a quiz I do. You take a well known lyric and translate it in to another language. Then you take the translation and translate it back in to English. The results can be very funny and there will be the odd key word that will give it away. A very simple topical one. English to Italian to English. London to Berlin all the direction from Paris to Tallinn Helsinki over to Praga does not import where we are - yeah yeah ye-ah Flying on to Amsterdam why interfered with them if you can hour we cruising in the sky and we are not singing it to you for. Oh, and I have the up most respect for people that can speak more than one language. |

But some people are ("not nice" people) and do speak two or more languages and I certainly wouldn't like them, or respect them. Also, reading within that comment, it is implying that you respect those who speak more than one language. But I would hazard an educated guess and certainly say that the majority of forum members would only speak "one language", so maybe it makes that large section of people rather bewildered and lost:puzzled: I respect people who are worth respecting, regardless of whether they can speak more than one language. Now that does make sense:thumbs: _________________________________________ Language translators always help everyone and for whatever reason, whether it is for a quiz or an answer or just plain communicating. That's not hard to work out, or, even worth explaining in (overdetail) which is why I was just happy to include the website link and what it does! nodisharmony  |
Its all sorted now, me and Remy are friends again =]

I think that Dr43% was saying that he respected that people can speak more than one language because of the committment it takes to learn them.
Not sure where your post came form or what motivated it Nick, I certainly did not for one minute think that he was saying he only respected those that could speak more than one language and dont really know where your confusion is coming from. |
that was a bit uneccesary

In fact, it's from my family. My father was born in Russia and my mother is italian (her parents were born in Italy). Then when I was a child, it was a big mix in my house, between french at school, italian and russian at home, I've learnt that really quickly. My parents, both speak english and their own language and my sister speaks german and english. My parents decided to take an "english teacher" when I was 7 in order to teach to me. When I was 11, I've taken as my first compulsory foreign language, the english.
At 14, I've taken as my second compulsory language, the italian. And last year, I've decided to take russian, but it was not compulsory, it was a plus. My teachers don't understand how I can speak all those languages very well and congratulate my parents at all the time. I'va big and good memory, that's all ! |
well you should be very proud of yourself, the career options you have are endless with that amount of language expertise under your belt
|
I want to work in the Hotels, so it's big advantage for me, I'm really proud and more because, I speak english better than my other languages and it's not my original language ! And I'm "only" 17 lol
|
good for you :flower:
|
People are so impressed and surpised that a 17 y-o man can speak all those languages, but maybe I was born with that gift !
|
Certainly a gift , its great you can speak all these languages, im practicly fluent in Welsh and am learning French.
