Gah I knew all these excuses would come from the younger members, It was just an idea... it might never happen. So no one will win, I am sure you will get over it if you can't see one little section. The section might never even kick off you never know.
I was just trying to stop younger people seeing things we keep posting about, I mean when we have threads about vagina's and penis' it is not suitable. But whatever, if you want young kids seeing that then fine.

Or do something better, raise the age level to 16+, lets go extreme.

I don't see how it's the admins responsibilites what these young eyes see.

What would be more suitable would be if an admin were to notice a thread that they deemed too mature, they could make it so that you would have to verify you were of a certain age before going into the thread.

I think its a good idea, I know I'm 16 but it really doesn't bother me if there's a 18+ section/subforum. I think it would be good and would protect the younger members on here from some of the stuff that people post. :wink:

maybe rather than a secret area apart from raising the sign up age putting tibb as a forum where you have to be a signed up and signed in member rather than availiable for guests to read as well

Hardly, your talking about a whole new sub forum exclusive to over 18. Mine is simply a stamp mods could put over it, and would avoid the clique problem.

Ok well there wouldn't be a clique, I dont see the obsession with Cliques =/. Also having a thread where only certain people can talk in is basically the same as having a small section where only certain people can talk in. We could even tie them both together and have the section then if there was a too mature thread posted in a normal section its moved.
I am just saying its an idea, and would be fun for us older members that want to talk about older things.

I like the idea, especially for younger members who aren't mature enough or just too young to see some of the stuff posted on here.

Where as I'd prefer 16+, I agree with Fom that 18 is the age of watching/buying porn or what ever. Is the forum really allowed to do stuff like that for 16/17 year olds without parental consent or something?

I've never understood why sex in the real world is 16+ but sex or anything sexual related is 18+ on the internet. But there is probably a reason, and thats why I have raised the idea of 18+.
As I said, its up too the moderators and what they think is suitable. I would prefer a 16+ section than none at all. But I can imagine a LOT of 16 year olds going in and giggling at everything.

It's not an obsession it;s a big issue on forums. You think that if over 18s were given an entire sub forum to themselves, they wouldn't form cliques? Whether or not it's intentional, it is enevitable.

also it wouldnt be cliquey the only people complaining are those who are not old enough to use anything like it including some that are some of youngest on here who if were my child i wouldnt even want watching bb let alone discussing adult topics all of the older members have been where you are now in being younger than age limits such as drinking clubbing etc

I think its a great idea... obviously because I am under 18 I would prefere over 16... but if over 18 would suit the forum better and would be safer I wouldn't mind... please don't compare us all to Gazbo..

16+ I reckon. 'Cos that's the legal age for sex, and most of us 16yos have drunk alchohol/smoked etc. (which was only made illegal like last year ... )

You could make the sub forum only visible to registered users.

Which the majority of are under 16.
