Arsenal to Complete £7.5m Signing of Italian International Sebastian Giovinco
There appears to be a strong chance that Arsene Wenger is about to clinch a deal to sign Juventus’s highly rated attacking midfielder Sebastian Giovinco. Many sources are claiming the Italian is about to make his move from Turin to north London after being told by his new boss Luigi Delneri that he is not part of his first team plans. Apparently a deal is on the table for as little as £7.5m, which in today’s market is something of a bargain. The Serie A side are looking to offload many of their large squad as quickly as possible as the new manager looks to bring in new additions to his misfiring Juventus squad. Arsene Wenger is known to be a big admirer of the pint sized performer who is looking to make the move to the Premier League side in the hope that he can re-ignite his flagging career. |
England chief Brooking wants Arsenal, Everton to loan best kids to Premiership rivals
England technical chief Sir Trevor Brooking says the Premier League's best youngsters need to be playing at a higher level. Brooking believes loaning players to League One and Two clubs is counterproductive. He said: "To get first-team experience some of them will be sent out on loan to Football Leagues One and Two where the chance to play the passing way isn't always there. "These players need to go to clubs where they are going to keep passing the ball even when they're under pressure. "Jack Rodwell at Everton, Phil Jones at Blackburn and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, who went out on loan to Bolton - we need more of those playing regularly in the Premier League, but we can't tell the clubs who to select. "It would be great if we could drop a blanket over them and play them all in the same Championship team together for the next three years. That would be exciting. "I know that would never happen. But that's the sort of thing you'd love to be able to do. |

Sol Campbell 'in no man's land' over new Arsenal contract - Arsene Wenger Arsene Wenger has admitted he remains in the dark over defender Sol Campbell's prospects for spending another year at Arsenal, with Newcastle and Celtic interested in acquiring him on a free transfer. The veteran, who turns 36 in September, has been offered a one-year contract with the Gunners for next season after impressing on a short-term deal in the second half of the 2009/10 campaign. However, Magpies manager Chris Hughton has followed Bhoys boss Neil Lennon in courting Campbell's representatives over a deal for the 2010/11 season. And Wenger revealed he is still unsure where Campbell's future lies - especially as the former England international is away on his honeymoon after getting married at the weekend. "Campbell is still in no-man's land at the moment," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online, before also referring to fellow defenders Mikael Silvestre and William Gallas. "At the moment none of them have signed again for us. "There is nothing special to say about that [but] I believe that Gallas and Silvestre will sign somewhere else." The latest speculation suggests Gallas, 32, is in talks with Greek side Panathinaikos over a long-term deal, while former Manchester United stalwart Silvestre, also 32, is still on the lookout for a new club. |
Real Madrid prepared to sweeten Ashley Cole deal by offering Kaka to Chelsea - report
Real Madrid are prepared to break Chelsea's resolve to keep Ashley Cole by offering Brazil superstar Kaka in exchange, according to The Mirror. The England World Cup 2010 left back is understood to be determined to leave the country due to the press attention following his split from wife, Cheryl. After bringing him to the Blues in 2006, new Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho is reported to be ready to seize the chance to have a reunion with the former Arsenal player. Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has declared he has no intention of letting Cole go even for a reported £30 million. This position could be weakened, however, if Kaka was sent to Stamford Bridge in an exchange. The attacking midfielder endured a debut campaign of disappointment at the Bernabeu after suffering a decline in form and fitness. Ancelotti brough the best out of the £56 million signing at AC Milan and could be tempted by the opportunity bringing the best out of him again. |
Things are finally looking on the up for us, we could have a decent season afterall.

Fletch is a really calming influence on the team. |
I'd be worried if I was a United fan if Fletcher was still in your side after next season.

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/image..._wilson466.jpg Rangers have agreed a deal in principle with Liverpool over the sale of defender Danny Wilson. Ibrox chief executive Martin Bain insists the move will net the club £2m, rising to £5m with on add-ons linked to games played. Wilson was absent from the squad that left Glasgow on Tuesday for Rangers' pre-season tour in Australia, which was attributed to a hamstring problem. The 18-year-old centre-back turned down an offer to remain at Ibrox. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...rs/8839525.stm Rated highly by Rangers fans. Have never seen him play myself |
