Eduardo has revealed his sadness at leaving Arsenal and thanked the club for helping him overcome a career threatening injury.

Croatia striker spent three years with the Gunners before agreeing a £6m move to Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this week and he admits he is leaving the Emirates Stadium with a heavy heart.
A large chunk of his career with Arsenal was spent recovering from a horrendous broken leg and dislocated ankle suffered at Birmingham in February 2008.
Eduardo told the Gunners' official website: "The past few days have been very emotional for me.
"Although I am excited about the challenge ahead with my new club Shakhtar Donetsk, I am so sad to be leaving my home for the past three years - Arsenal Football Club.
"Arsenal is a very special football club and I will miss so many people - my team-mates, all the staff and, of course, the wonderful Arsenal supporters.
"When I first came to England, I could not speak the language and knew nobody, but as soon as I arrived I was made to feel at home and part of this big family.
"I had some very difficult times with my injury, but Arsenal was always there for me - the medical staff, the management, the players and the supporters. Thank you everybody.
"Although I have now left the club, Arsenal will always be in my heart. I will always look for the Arsenal results and of course, I wish Arsene Wenger and the great players at the club well for next season and the future."
The tackle by Blues defender Martin Taylor saw the Croatian miss almost a year of football and many experts believe the psychological scars had a negative impact on the striker's game following his return to action.

Wilshere set for Gunners first team.

Arsene Wenger has told Jack Wilshere to prove his quality if he wants to get a regular first team spot. According to Sky Sports, the French manager believes the time is right for the young midfielder to make the breakthrough. Wengers apparent change of heart could be down to the new Premier League ruling, whereby eight home based players must be in the 25 man squad. This could also mean Bolton manager Owen Coyle is unlikely to land the English youth international back on loan.

Arsenal 3-0 Sturm Graz.

Arsenal’s pre season tour of Austria has started in good fashion, with a 3-0 victory over Strum Graz. Arsene Wenger handed Marouane Chamakh his first start but it was Samir Nasri who grabs the headlines. The French midfielder scored two good goals and Henri Lansbury finished the convincing win with a great finish.

3 goals in 2 games for Samir.

Martin Jol snubs Fulham as Ajax ready Gregory van der Wiel sale to Arsenal
Martin Jol has turned down an offer to take over as Fulham manager, choosing instead to stay with Ajax despite rumours the club are being forced to accpet a transfer bid from Arsenal for star defender Gregory van der Wiel.

Arsene Wenger has made enquiries about the full-back, and is considering making an offer as he looks to strengthen his defence ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners have also been linked with Ajax's first-choice goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg - another Dutch international - and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez.

However, Wenger is thought to have turned his attention away from both after being quoted more than £40million for all three.

He is still trying to tie up a move for Fulham's veteran shot-stopper Mark Schwarzer and is rumoured to be making enquiries about Loic Remy in a bid to usurp West Ham's negotiations with Nice over the young striker.

Arsenal 'end interest in Phil Jagielka' as Everton set transfer value too high
Arsene Wenger has pulled out of negotiations with Everton over Phil Jagielka after Arsenal's latest transfer bid of £15million was rejected out of hand.

Everton said 20m or no deal.

So Looks like Jagielka will be at everton for at least one more season.
Great player though wish we could get him.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger turned down the chance to sign Joe Cole, it has been revealed.

The Daily Star says the Gunners pulled out of trying to sign Cole because they are so confident of keeping Cesc Fabregas.

Cole was keen on a move to the Emirates. But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger did not pursue a deal with the former Chelsea star because he is convinced Fabregas can be persuaded to stay.

Cole, 28, was a fan of Arsenal as a boy and is understood to have let Wenger know he favoured a switch to the club.

The Gunners – unlike Liverpool – could also have offered Cole Champions League football.

But with Wenger not pursuing a deal, Cole opted instead for Anfield, where he has agreed a four-year contract worth £90,000-a-week.

Arsenal are closing in on Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and are ready to offer him a player-coach role at the club.

Mikel Arteta's agent claims it will be 'difficult' for the midfielder to leave Everton amid reports Sevilla are planning a bid.

The 28-year-old has repeatedly been tipped to return to La Liga and speculation has linked Sevilla with a £12million offer.

Sevilla's sale of Adriano to Barcelona has left the club short of options in midfield and Arteta has been mooted as their prime transfer target.

However, the former Rangers star's representative, Inaki Ibanez, cast doubt on the prospect of Arteta leaving Goodison Park this summer.

Ibanez told the Spanish press: "Everton are asking for a lot of money, so it is difficult for Mikel to exit the club."

12 million?? Pffffffft they can kiss my ass!

Ben Arfa's agent and has said that Marseille have offered him to Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle as well as an unnamed German club.

Stephane Sessegon has been offered to Everton, but Paris Saint-Germain have placed an £8 million valuation on the Benin midfield player.

Everton defender Shane Duffy is determined to grasp his “second chance” after returning to light training following the freak training ground accident which nearly killed him.The Republic of Ireland centre-back had to undergo life-saving surgery in May after rupturing the hepatic artery close to his liver following a collision in a practice game.

If he wants to go then there would have to be a compromise between both clubs, plus there is the factor that Sevilla can offer Champions League football if they get through the last qualifying round;).

Haha I think if Mikel had any interest in playing for another English team he would jump at the chance of playing at Arsenal, but he's said he would only leave Everton to go back to Spain.

Hands off :p

30stone 22-07-2010 02:42 PM

I think we pulled out because fabregas is staying..

Yeah, they can give us 15million and Jesus Navas, then they've got a deal :p

I can understand if he wants to go back to Spain and end his career there, but as far as I know he's very happy at Everton, it's just that he's so keen to play for his national team, I don't think he stands a chance though with the amount of amazing players Spain has....Mikel is great but others are better.

If he was 23 - 24 he would but now at 28 i think its too late.

Spain are really favouring young talent.

Navas
Pedro
Bojan
etc..

Nah they won't give you Navas, he has homesick problems apparently which he is dealing with and plus he's loyal to his hometown club:p.

ALL clubs are guilty of tapping up players at some point, agents constantly contacting clubs plus there is scouts etc;).
