Liverpool seem to be beating Arsenal in the race to sign Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, according to the Mirror.

Wright-Phillips is believed to have been told he can leave the City of Manchester stadium for a fee of around £7 million.

However Arsenal are thought to be unwilling to pay the £65,000-a-week wages he earns and now this has opened the door for Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson to make his move.

Hodgson is confident of signing Wright- Phillips after already persuading his former Chelsea team mate Joe Cole to join the Merseyside club ahead of the Emirates.

Wright-Phillips has already turned down City’s offer of a £10,000-a-week wage increase he was offered at the end of last season and his place has recently come under threat since the arrival of David Silva from Valencia and the imminent arrival of James Milner from Aston Villa.

Poulsen is due to sign any day now from Juventus aswell. And we've been linked with Crouch for a few days now. Imagine our squad ended up like this:

GK: Reina

RB: Johnson
CB: Carragher
CB: Agger
LB: Aurelio / New Signing

DM: Poulsen
Free Role: Gerrard

LW: Jovanovic
RW: Wright Phillips
AM: Cole

ST: Torres

Subs:
GK: Cavalieri / New Signing
DF: Skrtel
DF: Aurelio / New Signing
MF: Lucas
MF: Aquilani
ST: Kuyt
ST: Crouch

Maxi, Babel, Ngog, Kyrgiakos, Pacheco, Kelly, Spearing and Wilson all on the fringe too.

I think someone like Villa will end up with Wright Phillips though.

Ye I'm chuffed with the point but we deserved to win it, we invaded their box 24/7 in the second half, moving Whitts inside and putting McCormack on the left solved our problems!

Oh loads of knobhead booing Hudson when his name was read out in the starting line-up and shouting '*******,' it was sickening - he's a Cardiff player at the end of the day whether he's great or not he doesn't deserve getting sh*t like that. Loads of other fans had a right go at them for it though.

Yeah we're meant to be getting Lee Naylor and Andy Keogh, which would be two great signings! :D

King Gizzard 08-08-2010 05:44 PM

Lee Naylor is absolutely f'ing atrocious

And we wont get SWP

I agree although he's from a place where some of my family live:D.

All of a sudden Redknapp wants to keep Keane:conf:, Villa definetly need to get a striker.

Locke. 08-08-2010 05:48 PM

We've loaned Degen out to Stuttgart for the season.

Wish we'd hurry up and sell him, one of the most pointless signings ever.

King Gizzard 08-08-2010 05:48 PM

Exactly..Bath City rofl

Have seen him play many times and he is beyond crap

King Gizzard 08-08-2010 05:49 PM

Excuse me..I got mixed up with Richard Naylor LOL

Did Chops play?:p, also will Whittingham be leaving?. McCormack should definetly be given more of a chance too.

LOL fickle fans, he'll soon shrug it off and settle down.

King Gizzard 08-08-2010 05:55 PM

He'd be good at championship level

King Gizzard 08-08-2010 05:57 PM

Yeah Chops did, he set the goal up but he didn't look interested :/ Whitts is 100% staying, DJ went mad today at Forest's CEO saying it's a load of rubbish claiming he's trying to unsettle the player, then TG said he's in talks with him over a new contract :) McCormack's too overweight though LOL, he can't run quickly anymore, he's great for back-up though.

He's just the Scapegoat, he barely does anything wrong he's actually a very good player and he did well today, it's just a shame he's slow haha but most center halfs are. He played alongside Gyepes today who was atrocious and it was his fault they scored - yet everyone blamed Huds ¬.¬ Gyepes is like a king to our fans for some reason even though he's wank. Hudson > Garbage > Gyepes

I predict Chopra will be leaving again:rolleyes:, thats good news about Whittingham, at least he's being sensible and is staying where he knows he will get lots of first team action.

Ross can lose some weight ha ha:p.

bbfan1991 08-08-2010 06:02 PM

LOL I hope Middlesbrough come back up but they have way too many Scottish players:p, not a bad thing though.
