Do you find it interesting that the UK election is on the 4th of July. American independence day. While the US election is on the 5th of November. The date of the gunpowder plot?

Is it just coincidence?

No, I think Sunak did not care
he was rushing to get this General Election out of the way.

Many in the media think
he is ready to fly back to California
sometime after the results.

Don't the YouGov polls always end up being wildly off though?

joeysteele 04-06-2024 06:01 AM

Had Sunak held out until the Autumn, this divisive wrecker Farage would have much more than likely been in the USA canvassing for his other divisive friend Trump.

I'd rather have the Cons than anything Farage is involved with at any time.

This poll projecting seats was quite accurate in 2017 and 2019

every poll has a margin of error. For example in America the polls are showing them neck and neck, which basically means the polls are useless other than saying its possible it will be close, but also may not

Here, if polls are aggregated and one party has a huge lead over another, then the winner is not really in doubt unless everyone that responded is lying. But polls are never really that simple and likely to be closer just by the nature of how constituencies are distributed

Mystic Mock 04-06-2024 10:03 AM

@MTVN @bitontheslide Yeah I just find the lead hard to believe for Labour more than anything.

Don't get me wrong, I do want them to beat the Tories, it's just that lead takes the distaste towards Sunak to a level that I didn't see coming.

I knew that he was unpopular to be losing to Starmer in the first place, but ****ing hell if that margin actually happens.

It's not just Sunak, its covid and all the hassles with Boris and his boozy parties. It's the absurd leadership election and the pain Truss inflicted on the country. It's the shambles that was created when the tories took us out of the EU. It's the cost of living crisis and its the fact that the tory party have been in power for over a decade.

That's why it's the way it is

Meh he's just a Tory with his balls out on display - fundamentally he doesn't hold any belief that isn't shared by the majority of Tory MP's and every single Tory PM.

add to that we have now had 2 unelected "leaders" due to the complete sh1tshow that the last elected one made out of Covid - him and his scientific wankers and their lies

Four, technically. May and Boris were put to the vote and elected during their run but unelected for a period of time after becoming PM.

everyone already knows what type of person farage is. He is happy to burn things down, but then runs to the hills saying it wasn't his fault. He doesn't yet have a cult following like trump, and likely never will

joeysteele 04-06-2024 09:58 PM

Why do the Greens have 2 leaders??
Does anyone know.

If they ever got hundreds of seats, how many leaders would they need then ??

The Slim Reaper 04-06-2024 10:03 PM

1 leader for each policy difference between labour and tories.

Yes it is Wrong
not one of them has said anything about the
Islamist Extremist in their party.

When he won
he was not green more Gaza

It just seems odd.
Needing 2 actual leaders.

I've quite liked some of what the Greens have said in the past but they often leave me more confused than really answer anything too.

bots 05-06-2024 07:35 AM

if they won the GE, would they be joint PM?

arista 05-06-2024 07:22 PM

Jeremy Corbyn is now an Independent Standing,

Against Praful Nargund of the Labour Party
