I have first hand experience of a brainwashed soldier relative who fought in Basra.

If what british soldiers do were that great, they wouldn't be earning a measely £400 a week.

May I ask have you laid your life on the line for your Country?

A dangerous job by anybody's standards -and he paid a hefty price - pretty much amounts to the same thing - he was injured doing his duty as a soldier! Brave man in my book!

Not in the sense you refer to. But i would for the sake of the prosperity of the English, i wouldn't need paying for it either.

Talk is cheap!

Lots of my friends are active forces and most of them try not to think to about the political realities, they are simply a tool, a shield and deterrent which is vital for the security of the UK. They can't choose the battles.

They are what I think of as true citizens and deserve respect from all of us. I would like to say they're opinions should be held in a higher regard, but the reality is that they are no more enlightened than anyone else. Like any group of people there are some assholes in the mix.

But you can hardly call them brainwashed, you don't join the army to get rich :) .

That's a fair comment, so I'll rephrase my question to the OP. Are you a Soldier, male or female, who has come under fire or been in a situation where your life was threatened because of being in the forces?

Irony.

Well this country's in a desperate state, the English have been trodden on bigtime and continue to be so, the English are waking up, at some point somethings got to give because the English love our land more than the others.

Then in which sense have you laid down your life? If you can't reply to that, then fair enough.

He did mention America because i remember him saying about them coming in late.

There hasn't been a situation in which to do so. Ask me after that situation arises.

So he mentioned America in reference to WWI? There you go, he was specifically talking about WWII and not modern times.
