Wow....that's much longer than I expected he'd get. Obviously some fairly strong evidence...

jackc1806 02-05-2014 01:40 PM

I thought he'd either get off or get 1-2 years. Surprised but pleasantly surprised

Kazanne 02-05-2014 01:42 PM

Another dirty old perv getting his just desserts.

Livia 02-05-2014 01:42 PM

Judges are bound by sentencing guidelines. He'll be out in four.

Smithy 02-05-2014 01:46 PM

surprised by that tbh, just assumed it was another bunch of bandwagon accusations like with the corrie actors

he will do 4 of course - 4 years is a still long time

Tom4784 02-05-2014 02:27 PM

I'm pleasantly surprised, I thought he'd be out in a year or less. I'm glad he's going to spend at least a few years behind bars.

The Judge was Angry about this Report

I think most people are surprised he got 8 years, as his crimes were committed before the laws were changed in theory he should have got no more than two years.

But to make the sentence fit the current Max sentence for this type of crime the judge ordered that he serve his eight sentences ranging from 6 months to 24 months, consecutively not concurrently as is normally the case.

So now he has 8 years or 4 with good behaviour

I think he will need a bigger overnight bag.

Cherie 03-05-2014 09:42 AM

oh the irony, remember when Max said there would be a load of high profile people worried about Operation Yewtree. Worried for himself more like.

Aduk 04-05-2014 09:28 PM

This conviction is why Operation Yewtree is necessary despite the criticism it has faced over unearthing historic sexual allegations and being some form of 'witch-hunt'.
