Yes...obviously the perp saw me complaining and thought better off it so he laid it somewhere before slinking out the door.

The police were seconds away from being summoned.

What was the cocktail Parm, I need to know.

That was my whole argument..I'm sure I had my wallet out showing them how empty it was at one point.

Shoreditch, eh? Don't you have to have a neatly pruned beard and a topknot to drink there these days?

I had skinny jeans and plimsolls on..I strode in with giant steps so they would see the bottom half first..

It’s not the barmans job to look after your drink as much as it would be for him to keep watch of your phone or car keys. You took the risk, your mistake.

DouglasS 30-04-2019 06:33 PM

Completely your own fault. The barman’s priority is to serve other customers he can’t neglect doing that to watch your drink. While he’s serving other customers and it gets taken it’s your own doing. Lucky you got another one, you probably got one because you were more of a bother to him to not replace it in all honesty. Hopefully youll learn from this

Tom4784 30-04-2019 06:38 PM

If I was the barman I would have laughed in your face.

It's your responsibility to keep an eye on your drink, if you leave a drink unattended then it being stolen is the least of your worries. Either take it with you or leave it with someone you can trust.

Parmy got a free drink so

winning

Blaming someone who's just trying to earn a living and threatening the police on them for his own incompetence is the farthest thing from winning.

Matthew. 30-04-2019 06:48 PM

Well that’s you told

He tried the laughing in my face, that is what irked me to begin with.

It was the owner I spoke to..not the hapless barman.

I almost held my smirk in when he was getting a severe telling off.

Beso 30-04-2019 07:17 PM

And I did say I was spending time chatting to the barman before going to the toilet...the place wasn't that busy either.

Am I though, considering they made me another for free?

So you stomped around and yelled and made a scene until they gave you a drink to shut you up... doesnt make you right.

This is what you did to the establishment you were at. You were responsible for your own possession of your drinks... you made a choice and it was the wrong one so you lost a drink... but instead of owning your mistake you passed it onto someone else making it their loss instead of yours.

You sound all proud and smug about it here in this thread... but you really shouldn't be.

If they had explained that in the manner you did then I would have accepted that but they didn't. ..they ignored me point blank and I'm the customer. Ten pound a pop as Cherie puts it so well...you don't expect that in such an establishment...which I told them..mid stomp.

Edit, I also had the 2nd cocktail that wasn't shutting me up so I doubt another one would have.

What if someone stole your purse in a supermarket?

If I left it unattended I would curse myself for being a fool tbh Parm. When I worked in bars I wouldn't have given you a free drink for what happened and if the manager had and undermined my decision I would have quit. Not my job to watch your drinks

I don't leave my purse unattended at the supermarket... if I did and it was stolen... I wouldn't blame the operator/manager. I'm an adult and as such I take responsibility for my own actions.

Ive been a barman as well...

What if you had spent the last ten minutes laughing and joking about cocktails in your bar that wasn't that busy and the customer nods to the drinks he has carefully placed next to the pump where you had been standing chatting mouthing am going to the toilet as he stared you in the eye.....would you nod and mouth ok..like he did..

Cause if that was me that was me taking responsibility for his drinks.

Wouldn't you request the manager looks at cctv and you perhaps call the police?

That's asking then for assistance, not blaming them though.
