But we all know how much cyclists like to get all lycra upped and meet in groups of 6 to 8 on a warm Sunday.

GoldHeart 04-04-2020 07:42 PM

More like September! If we're lucky that is

They may start relaxing it on smaller towns/ places with low infection rates

Beastie 04-04-2020 09:16 PM

Easter eggs are essential.

They are if essential items like bread pasta and bog roll are sold out. Better to have an Easter egg than nothing at all.

People can say that so and so food isn’t essential, but try telling that to any parent with a child with food sensory issues/an adult with food sensory issues.

To a degree I agree with you. However I would guess most who are still just going out every day and doing as they please just want extra to be greedy not for genuine reasons.

Like I'm sorry, if people are popping to say tesco for 1 bottle of wine and a bar of galaxy that's pathetic.

LaLaLand 04-04-2020 09:42 PM

If we weren’t allowed to buy Easter Eggs, they should be advertising them on TV (I’ve seen a load of new adverts today for them!)

Oh I agree, people should stay in unless they’re essential shopping, but in some cases the food availability means they have to check multiple supermarkets etc, that’s fine imo, I’ve had to go to the shops 3 times since the lockdown due to certain foods not being available due to people still stockpiling like prats

I can only speak for the supermarkets around here I have been to (Asda for myself and Tesco for a patient) and the supermarkets seem to have the stock and availability steady now.

In Asda the only limited items were Nappies (2 of each size) Toilet Rolls (1 large or 2 small packs) Baby Milk (2 of each age) and handwash (2). I even asked the lady lady who served me, as I know her.

They had no Flour or Pasta though.

Yes this. Would be a sensible start.

Kizzy 05-04-2020 12:12 PM

I'm surprised easter eggs are given shelf space, they are non essential. More room for beans! (The only thing I couldn't get last time I went shopping)

Tom4784 05-04-2020 12:16 PM

All food products is essential, you need options because if you start limiting what people can buy for food, that food runs out quick. Better to keep food options open as to spread the demand out.

MTVN 05-04-2020 12:17 PM

Tbf shops will have spent a lot of money ordering Easter eggs before this all exploded and they'll only go out of date and be wasted if they're not sold

True. I say carry on selling them. We are entitled to a bit of pleasure during this awful Lockdown experience. I have sent my eggs to the people I buy for by post (Amazon) early so they will have them in time. Glad I did now.

I didn't say don't sell what you have...I said shelf space. Keep them on pallets and only in larger stores.
