Not sure how there's been enough time yet. People dying now were infected a month ago, so we have to allow for those infected prior to lockdown, and those infected during the initial lockdown period to play out.

It's not going to happen, sadly.

I work in a town centre and there's more people around since the lockdown began than there was before. We are pretty much having our best sales ever and it's down to people wanting to nip out to buy cushions and paint to do up their houses. People aren't staying in, they aren't going out just for essentials.

This lockdown will last for months.

But blame should be layed at the shops and government for allowing the shops that are not selling none essentials to remain open.

It take 2 weeks to recover with non health issues and 6 weeks with health issues they say so if people followed the rules and stopped the spread it's possible

There is also the initial incubation period, which is approx 7-14 days.

they were never going to reduce the figures to zero, what they had to do was cause enough impact so that the pressure was lessened on the NHS. If the peak happens in the next week or 2 and the NHS is still coping, the objective will have been achieved.

They will reduce the severity of the lockdown at some point before people go insane, but it will be done in small steps, checking every 3 weeks if it has had a severe impact or not

It's going to take a long time before things are back to normal, if they ever really will be, the working from home directive could remain in place permanently until there is a vaccine or the number of infected reduce to double digits

no way this lockdown should be lifted by may then, since you sadly have stupid idiots who cannot stay at home on their own

I will wait till the scientific experts tell us what to do based on the data that they get nationally and not base any opinion on my own anecdotal opinion

No, if you hear 'we're in lockdown, only go out for essentials.' and you decide to have a day out at the shops then you're to blame. Even if you tighten up the lockdown completely like Italy did, you'd still be getting people going out because of stupidity.

If people listened then we would be out of lockdown sooner rather than later.

Medics, hardware equpment, pet supplies, hygiene products.

We've got tons of essentials yet our gardening and decorating supplies are empty. We're rapidly running out of things in the Home section which is stuff like throws, cushions, candles and such.

It's ridiculous.

essential for me would be a ''pharmacy'' or ''grocery store''

although the former, you can (at least in my country) order medication via Phone and they come drop it off at your home

You can only do so much if people aren't listening to guidelines and they aren't

Let's be honest there are next to no shops which sell exclusively essentials so there will always be people buying things they don't strictly need
