A manager I had in my early 20's used to get "mountain roast" from Pound land. Two jars for £1. I honestly can't describe it... Like drinking battery acid...

I had a little jar of kenco that I kept stashed in my work bag :joker:

I used to make fun of "coffee snobs" who refused to drink cheap coffee. I was speaking from someone who'd only ever had midrange (Nescafe etc) and above, so didn't yet know whereof I spoke.

Then I had a poundland coffee .... I instantly understood the "snobs", and wondered when the dire rear would strike.

I have one of these every morning with my marmite toast. No need for sugar, just tip the sachet into a big mug add boiling water, stir anti-clockwise 30 times, add milk, and stir 2 times and its lush. I think iv been having it 365 days a year for at least 10 years?

I'm strictly a bean to cup person, but i've found that even buying the best beans, i need to vary the bean choice for it to remain tasting really good. Your palate gets used to what you drink and you need to vary it to enjoy to the fullest

This is the best boy for instant I'm afraid.

Not a big fan of the little sachets.

Azera I like the taste of but it gives me indigestion .

I actually have that one (actually Original rather than Intense) at work atm because the shop I went to didn't have Azera

What’s that culture where the women chew the food before the man eats it?

We have a coffee machine at work.
It's quite nice. I usually get an espresso macchiato, but they also have cappuccino and latte.

I've never tried this. I want to get it for work.
Just to drink something different

It's a man. Not many women would act like that. Strange how many trans "women" use their fists to get their point across.

Male entitlement, male socialisation.

As I keep saying ,this whole " respect my pronouns" seems to be a one way street. As they can be as abusive and loud and nasty as they way ...even when the person genuinely doesn't know their gender .

Also think of all the abuse and name calling workers get called in general... funny how they can still behave in a professional calm manner . But not this self entitled worker ,who wants to make a scene.

Also if I've read the headline correctly,it sounds like it's another worker getting offended on behalf of the trans person? . That's another thing that irritates me aswell :bored: .

Respect my pronouns while I call you Karen and clap in your face in an intimidatory way, great he was sacked, yes the person behind the counter did not complain probably has a normal attitude to someone making a mistake

Was the person sacked?? , That's good if it's true .... hopefully there's still a bit of common sense in this cooky new world then.

yes and quite rightly so, anyone who feels that entitled has no place in a customer facing role

I don't see the need to go that far.
Why not just correct the customer politely?

I obviously don’t know the person in question but there are loads of people these days who just love to be the centre of attention

I'm not a huge fan of their performative progressiveness at times but I have to put that to one side because otherwise, we might be stuck with Costa, and that's just really unthinkable.

I vastly prefer Costa to Starbucks.

That suits me fine, I usually pay by card anyway.

But sadly just to make things awkward there are some pubs out there what only take cash … in 2023.

Don't blame them tbh, it's a bit ridiculous that small businesses have to surrender a percentage of their own money just to use card transactions.

I basically always use cash for small or local businesses. And card for big corps because fck those guys :joker:

:omgno: ... ... I mean ... everyone has their preferences I guess... but it's just so fruity and watery :umm2:.

Their breakfast rolls are amazing though.

I expect at SOME point as money goes more and more digital, they'll make it easier (and free) for small businesses to take contactless card payments.
