Unless I set it out wrongly I thought I was saying that he didnt suggest that it was possible to not BE yourself.

How you set it out is immaterial. Marcus's quote demonstrates his confusion about an ability to not be yourself. (Contrary to his claim you can't not be yourself. Whatever you do, you will be yourself.)

Ill try one time to explain what I ment by the first post.
When you go to work you put on a persona. It isnt fake as such because it is indeed us as we need to be in that situation. We are still ourselves but we are displaying an identity that only represents one fecet of ourselves. It isnt the whole.
We are rearly in our "true" full nature though Marcus seems to have recently been caught pretty close to it.
Imagine how Bea would have reacted if it had been her caught. I think it would have been a very different situation as she is very conscious of only displaying facets of her nature rather then the whole.
I take what Marcus said to mean that while you can be creating a one faceted image of oneself you are not actually being yourself as a whole (obviously pedantically one can only be oneself but that is being unnecessarily obtuse).
Throughout the show Marcus has been very careful to try to display his most vulnarable side as much as possible and in doing so is the least vulnarable when an "image" is cut through.
Bea targeted vulnarable house mates who had round themselves images which much have taken years to build (Freddie and Kenneth) and I believe that is why they were effected so badly when she stripped them of it.
Bea herself has now, to my mind, lost momentum as the rest of the house mates are far more self assured. Ironically I think the effect of the housemates laughing at her effected her so much because her image (that of a rational minded victim always able to keep carm and agrue her way out) was destroyed, all be it completely unintentionally.
This at least is what I take from Marcus' statement and the meaning of it is far more important to me then pedantics.
Anyway thanks for all the interesting posts! It has been fun reading them.:cheer::elephant::cheer:
Edited: For clumsiness in first posting.
