Actually, 'mental retardation' is not defined so rigidly and usually involves other scales (e.g. adaptive scales) before a diagnosis is made:

Based just on IQ, the following would apply:

Class IQ
Profound mental retardation Below 20
Severe mental retardation 20–34
Moderate mental retardation 35–49
Mild mental retardation 50–69
Borderline intellectual functioning 70–79

So Lisa only has 'mild' mental retardation (haha).

I'm clever aren't I??

(Just copied it from text on retardation) :cheer2:
According to that - Lisa and Sophie have 'mild' mental retardation!

I don't buy that - not with either - but particularly not with Lisa!
Sophie did think that cans of Tuna that did not have "dolphin Friendly" printed on it had Dolphin meat in it!!
You're joking right?
No.
Maybe she is smarter than we think: laying claim that we all have Dolphin meat and blood on our hands when we choose to eat from cans that aren't Dolphin friendly. Very profound use of language to highlight our own culpability. Well played Sophie lol

Does she even know what sea-horses are and what size they are in relation to sharks? It's a real Father Ted moment here..... these are near, those are far away. lol

She is actually not that far off!

Sharks often mistake people for seals - and that is why they attack them!

Yes, we're all aware of that professor. That's what makes it funnier. She must think sea-horses are fecking huge or something.

How do they know that the shark thought the person was a seal though?? Did he have a munch and then say, "Oh, Sorry about that sir, Could have sworn you were a seal there!!" hehhehehehe

That actually does happen..... they have a nibble on humans becuz they're similar in shape and size to seals and then let go when they realise there's no good eating in us. Alot of shark attacks never end up being fatal because it's just a case of mistaken identity.

Lol, no we're not..... too much bone and cartilage for their tastes. They love their fatty little seals. Maybe that's why they love American waters- more chance there of grabbing a tubby swimmer hee hee.

He is the most intelligent housemate in there. Very switched on, and very aware. I think he lacks emotional intelligence though

This results in something called 'fukktard syndrome'.
He has a high IQ.
Lisa is a moron.
How could you possibly know what his IQ is! He probably doesn't even know that himself! Most people don't!
There IQs were measured by Big Brother.:eureka:
And were broadcast on BBLB a few weeks ago.

Unless I set it out wrongly I thought I was saying that he didnt suggest that it was possible to not BE yourself.
How you set it out is immaterial. Marcus's quote demonstrates his confusion about an ability to not be yourself. (Contrary to his claim you can't not be yourself. Whatever you do, you will be yourself.)
Ill try one time to explain what I ment by the first post.

When you go to work you put on a persona. It isnt fake as such because it is indeed us as we need to be in that situation. We are still ourselves but we are displaying an identity that only represents one fecet of ourselves. It isnt the whole.

We are rearly in our "true" full nature though Marcus seems to have recently been caught pretty close to it.

Imagine how Bea would have reacted if it had been her caught. I think it would have been a very different situation as she is very conscious of only displaying facets of her nature rather then the whole.

I take what Marcus said to mean that while you can be creating a one faceted image of oneself you are not actually being yourself as a whole (obviously pedantically one can only be oneself but that is being unnecessarily obtuse).

Throughout the show Marcus has been very careful to try to display his most vulnarable side as much as possible and in doing so is the least vulnarable when an "image" is cut through.

Bea targeted vulnarable house mates who had round themselves images which much have taken years to build (Freddie and Kenneth) and I believe that is why they were effected so badly when she stripped them of it.

Bea herself has now, to my mind, lost momentum as the rest of the house mates are far more self assured. Ironically I think the effect of the housemates laughing at her effected her so much because her image (that of a rational minded victim always able to keep carm and agrue her way out) was destroyed, all be it completely unintentionally.

This at least is what I take from Marcus' statement and the meaning of it is far more important to me then pedantics.

Anyway thanks for all the interesting posts! It has been fun reading them.:cheer::elephant::cheer:

Edited: For clumsiness in first posting.

And shamelessly bumped as it just took me ages to write that and it is about to be drowned.
