I kinda dislike these kind of topics as I don't taker the 'typical' view that men and women are actually exactly the same and completely equal. I disagree. manual labour is better for men as (again typically) they have more strength than women. And personally I think women are better at jobs such as nursing as they tend to be more...empathetic and caring. I would probably rather have a male firefighter come to my house to carry me down the stairs and save me from a fire, then have a nice friendly female nurse to get me back to health, than the other way around.. Maybe I am sexist deep down. Maybe I was just brought up with old fashioned views...I don't know. But I have always thought some jobs are simply better for one gender or the other :S |

Mind, this equal pay stuff was great for my dad. He worked in the prisons on the computers and was earning less than the people who actually worked with the prisoners. This whole equal pay malarky started and as my dad was the same 'grade' or something in his equivalent post,. he got his pay backdated for years to that of the people who work with the actual prisoners, came away with about 20k. Hope I explained that right  |

but women don't even fix tv sets or washing machines...even the computers, no woman has ever fixed any of our computers? why? theyre ahead in all schools and across higher education? so what the heck is going on seriously? ask yourself individually, in your home how many things were ever fixed by female workers compared to men?

There is plenty of money in programming and stuff. 2 of the people in my dads office at the prison were women. Women also tend to do office clerk-y jobs more often than men, which require computer skills. |
I will admit that I have no ****ing idea how to fix a washing machine. My solution is..buy a new one and give the crap men something to do

Why are attitudes like this allowed on the forum?

Hubby can turn his hand to fixing the washing machine at a push..maybe about 6/7 times in 38 years...but it took him the full 38 years to learn how to actually use the chuffing thing,.
Son is an electrical engineer, designs industrial washers amongst other things, I kid you not, it has taken him years to learn the difference between the washer and the tumbler..go figure:joker: |
