Hes just socially inept and timid round people. His life experiences come from a laptop.

Not liking physical contact - especially from people you barely know - isn't a sign of being socially inept. Some people are more tactile than others and some people like their personal space. I don't see the issue?

Yes, some people just aren't very tactile. But he's friendly and lovely :)

True. He doesn't need to be constantly touching people to make friends and have fun. He's a friendly person regardless of that.
