I didn't speak up when I saw the video earlier because people rarely take such prejudice about the Irish seriously but if you use a person's cultural identity to augment an insult you are insulting their cultural identity.

This thread isn't about defending Marc. It's not even about Mark. It's about what Harry said and what Harry said is not ok.

Thank you! I don't like Marc, i think he's a vile sexist ****, I'm offended because I'm Irish not on Marcs behalf.

When folk have reached the limits of their intellect, they tend to let their true sentiments into the light of day in the form of spontaneous utterances....and I still haven't seen that bit of VT. Must root it out imediately...Harry could be about to lose a fan here. Dayum.

I think it's a context thing, He is Irish that's a fact, she's not using the fact he's Irish in any derogatory sense therefore I don't see it as an issue.

When you put it before an insult of course it is

Kizzy 10-06-2015 11:02 AM

Why? She wasn't suggesting the fact he's Irish is the reason she dislikes him, or anyone else from Ireland is a ****

Why put Irish before the insult? What relevance had it, I found it offensive

smudgie 10-06-2015 11:14 AM

Fat so and so.
Old hag so and so.

I don't like any of it to be honest, but I do thnk it is even worse when you use their nationality as a slur.

I mean, i wouldn't get offended if someone called me a Welsh wanker, so maybe I'm just seeing it from my own personal prospective idk

I agree with Taffy.:joker:

And what exactly makes that ridiculous by you having a gypsy Bro in law? It's a fact, Knacker is a derogatory description for a gypsy in Ireland...You n yours are probably more familiar with the term Pikey...Do you and or himself like / mind being called that? Not that anyone one would dare use either words to a Travellers mein unless the numbers favoured the insulter as is witnessed at national front, ukip marches

That's actually exactly what that sentence structure implies. We're talking the basics of the english language here.
