You got to 4 days, was that just water?... slapped legs for you Vicky :nono:
|
Kizzy you're doing so well!
I'm so pleased you're feeling much better, i think you should start a blog. I too try to look in the reduced aisle for fruit and veg, as it can get quite costly. I had a raspberry, pineapple, coconut water, with a tblsp of chia seeds and some honey smoothie this morning......it was tangy:laugh: I have gone back to having a latte and a nutrigrain elevenses bar for elevenses! I'm experiencing, tiredness, fatigue and lethargy again......i find it really hard to just cut out everything:( |
I'd rather die.

Coconut water sounds lovely I'm definitely going to try that, do you have a morrisons near you they have organic ground flaxseeds for £1.99 atm, they're £5.99 and H&B :) Maybe the tiredness is a sugar crash? your morning smoothie sounds really nice but too sweet for me, try a more sharp zingy citrusy one with tomato and some turmeric that's a right wake up  I have 5 500ml juices throughout the day and the same amount of water as well as the odd cup of green tea and that seems to do me ok, I'm not a little woman either I'm 5'10 and overweight. Mind you if you have lil kids and/or are working you'll need much more energy so I wouldn't say a juice fast was a good idea long term like this, I did it 99% due to my ill health so don't feel bad for wanting a coffee and a bun x |

I think i might try the five juices a day for a week and see how i get on, for me it's all or nothing, and when i fall off the wagon i fall hard, it usually takes for my stomach to hurt before i think...."i have to go back onto a juice diet!" And do you know....every time i go onto a juice diet my whole body calms down, and i feel better. We don't have a Morrisons near us, Tesco do a lot of seeds now but they are pricey, i've been using golden linseeds to bulk out my smoothies. I usually put some greens into my smoothies but i've not been bothering:( You've helped motivate me Kizzy, and i will try really hard to think about my health and the fact that food is fuel (so stay away from the rubbish:fc:!) :wavey: |

The one thing I do need is B12 as it's about the only important thing I can't get from this. But yep if you feel you need to 'reboot' as they say juice away Ruby. I'm just sorry I waited till I was 40 something to make my health a priority, damn them for getting all the rubbish to taste so good :fist: |

The reason I ask is, my husband has a genetic liver disease. He has always been advised not to drink fruit juice because of the fructose. Fructose can only be metabolised by the liver where it is converted into fat but that fat remains on the liver and can bring about fatty liver disease or confound other diseases of the liver and gallbladder. |
I have no gall bladder and I already have NAFLD :/ I only have 1 fruit juice in the morning and the rest of the day I have vegetable juices, I'm aiming for 60 days will post the results of my bloods then, fingers crossed.

2st down! :cheer2:
|
I always use plates full of boiled cabbage and snacks of boiled beetroots eaten like apples along with regular glasses of water, which fill the stomach so less food is consumed at mealtimes. It really does help to lose weight painlessly and safely.
|
All that would achieve is flatulence
|
No but a couple of my friends have done fast water diets. Some of them were fine with it and actually lost a good amount of weight. (I think they did it for like a week as a group all together) I wouldn't recommend longer than that though one girl in my class did it for like two/three weeks I think and she was shaking in technology and she looked really really ill she collapsed in class and they had to ring her mum to come and pick her up.

I dont believe in fad diets. A healthy balanced diet is key!
Cut down on your carb (e.g. pasta, rice, white bread) and sugar (e.g. drinks, chocolate, sweets) intake and overall portions. Dont skip breakfast and only have healthy snacks like fruit/light crackers/handful of nuts etc. Drink plenty of water and avoid fizzy drinks. Maximise on protein and salad/veg! A good tip is to not have the "bad foods" in the house, or at least not too much. Also avoid takeaways, maybe have a treat day so you dont crave. If you have fish and chips, dont get it battered, if you have kebabs get shish meat instead of donner and avoid the naan/pitta bread etc. Diet acquaints for around 70% of a healthy lifestyle - so try and include a little exercise. It recently got brought to my attention that more muscle = more calories burned so I recommend building a little muscle if possible. The focus is to be in a deficit of the recommended daily calories... Do an online test because weight, height, gender and age or play a role on what this may be. You will lose weight and feel healthier! Edit: Another tip is to have a high rich protein snack between lunch and tea around 3-4pm... boosts metabolism and keeps hunger at bay e.g. nuts, boiled eggs, protein shake or bar |
The reason for the thread was improved health not weight loss, this for me has just been a happy accident as I had weight to lose it was not the primary aim.

Im obviously speaking generally |
I can't wait for you to get your results Kizzy. You've done really well keeping up with the juicing, i'm so pleased you're finding that it's working for you, what are the main things (healthwise) that you've noticed have improved?
I've found for me that the minute i stop taking pro-biotics, coconut water and my morning smoothie, inflammation seems to rear it's head (and candidia:() i can literally feel an uncomfortable heat that starts under my right rib and goes vertically down to my right hip, i was wondering to myself....what organs are there??? Gall bladder, could be pancreas, kidney, liver, these have all been checked via an ultrasound scan, i had an x-ray of my lungs in April and nothing showed on this, it then dawned on me that this is the area of my large intestine, so i started up with the coconut water and probiotics (i also try to keep as gluten free as possible) and the uncomfortable heat/ache seems to be dwindling away. (And thanks for voting for me:blush:i was having a bad day that day and to read that i was your juicing friend really made my day, it's amazing how the effect of kind words can lift you up into such happiness:hug:) |
