-   -   Ann saying Meghan Markle is "trouble" because of her "background and attitude"... (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333335)

What can Ann possibly know about Megans 'attitude'. What an odd thing to say.

jet 10-01-2018 08:19 PM

Maybe Ann was thinking about how Meghan is going to fit in to royal life, and is she up to it. Both Diana and Fergie were used to being around the royals since they were young; Diana's father had been the Queens equerry and Fergie's father was Charles' polo manager. Yet they both spoke of the coldness and restrictions put upon them by the stuffy 'men in the grey suits' who put added strains on their marriages.
I doubt Meghan knows how the royal show really works and who really runs that show - not the Queen or Charles etc but those same stuffy advisers and I doubt they are much different these days. How is an young woman used to independence and a successful career of her own going to fit in with such a structured and stifling atmosphere? Diana and Fergie couldn't manage it. They were both free spirits in their own individual ways. They liked the spotlight and in the royal family that doesn't go down well at all. I sense that Megan likes the spotlight too and could be a bit too pushy for their liking.
Kate had about 10 years of dating William to learn the ropes and be sure she could cope with it all. She also had no job of her own and seems to be more retiring and not the type to push herself forward.
So I don't know - Meghan just doesn't seem to me to be ideal, quiet, obedient royal wife material, and in that family you have to be. Otherwise they can eat you up and spit you out.

Well it seems the "trouble" has already started. Meghan's half-sister in the paper today saying "If you can spend $75,000 on a dress, you can spend $75,000 on your dad". The father is cash-strapped it seems.

Oh dear. The royals have been free of the 'sensationalised' headlines for quite a few years. It will all begin again now - the last thing the 'Firm' want.

I took background to mean acting career, not sure what her attitude is

Lots of people feel the same way, something's not quite settled and they can;t quite put their finger on it.

Watching Harry's body language around her: he is almost a bit edgy, unrelaxed.
Certainly not natural and easy like William and Kate are with each other.

Hmmm

Time will tell

Tom4784 10-01-2018 10:42 PM

When it comes to the Royals, people seem to like to present their internal fan fiction as fact.

Harry fancies Kate because they were laughing in a video or photo? Meghan made the fatal mistake of holding onto Harry with two hands so this signifies that she isn't a lady suited to the Royal Family? 'Oh, she's an actress, she's obviously acting at all times.'

Honestly, it's ****ing BIZARRE.

Thankyou :clap1:
I'm not even a Royal fan but I hate the double standards, it's ok for Prince Charles to marry his mistress? . But people doubt Meghan because she's previously been married FGS ! :bored: .

No, we watched Harry over the years moon after Kate.

it wasn't a video or just a photo at all. It was many times when they attended functions, on the balcony at Buckingham Palace and at sports venues.

I am too old to be a fan of anybody so please could you not downplay what posters write for your own agendas. Thank you.

You're too old to be pretending to know someone from a few pap shots. :umm2:

That's you placing your own narrative over what is essentially paparazzi footage though, you don't know them, none of us do so why present what is essentially a baseless theory as fact?

Like I said, fan fiction.

poppsywoppsy 11-01-2018 12:30 AM

Where have I said I know them?

It is my opinion and I stand by it.

Yours is your opinion too, we disagree and it is called democracy.

Well, presuming to know their feelings is presuming to know them.

You're old enough to understand that basic concept.

Why am I old enough? I have an opinion on seeing them so many times enjoying each other's company. So therefore is it too hard to understand that Harry might have had a crush?

My teenage daughter thinks so too.

Your teenage daughter thinks so??? Well why didn't you say that to begin with???

I'm convinced now. :)

Just come across as close friends in those photographs, or brother-in-law that gets on well with his sister-in-law.

As for what Ann said, she wasn't talking about the fact Meghan is divorced or 3 years older than Harry because Rachel mentioned those facts and Ann said "yes, those too".

The newspapers are reporting it as Ann branded as a racist dinosaur.

Background and attitude, it could be perceived as code for race and/or could mean other things.

Ambigious, so no way of knowing for sure what she means.

I agree with all you say apart from the part Ive highlighted, I think she will push herself forward too much, she will take the title Princess Pushy off Princess Michael ,the way she over spoke and run the interview at their engagement while holding on to Harry with both hands was a turning point for me, i saw then there just something not right with her

I'm not sure tbh Chuff .
But I did notice that she was more outspoken in the interview ,but she's use to the limelight . I don't think I've watched any of her acting roles,so I don't really know .

And she touched Harry alot PDA . And on their royal visit back in December in Nottingham she was spending alot of time with the crowds talking, which again is a bit different .

I guess time will tell , I'm not a big royal fan . And it does annoy me when anything with the royal family takes centre stage in news programmes  .

Her life will never be the same again that's for sure, and even though she was already in the spot light , being apart of the royals is on another level and is a huge responsibility.

Even Kate got cold feet when she met William at University , didn't they break up at one point?. I think she found it overwhelming . But clearly she's fitting in now . But I wish people would stop going on about what hat or dress she's wearing  .

But anyway we'll see what happens with Megan . All the best to them .
