Even if that had something to do with it there are many other ways that traditionally she would have been considered unsuitable to marry a royal ie divorced, non-virgin, older, not upper-class etc so to jump straight to the colour of her skin is blinkered.

Ann is old school...the last time a member of the Royal family fell for an American divorcee he abdicated.
Megan seems lovely...it's quite refreshing and her acceptance into the Royal family is a sign that the Royals are moving forward.

I don't think any offence was meant...it's a generation thing.

Why didn't she specify what she meant though . She can't just make a sweeping statement as "Megan will be trouble" and not give a reason why . So I believe it's a Xenophobic thing as Megan is American , but the Royal family isn't 100% British but whatever .

What happened?

The only thing I recall is the King abdicating because the woman had already been married. A completely different set of circumstances.
