I hate it when anyone is harmed or killed by any dog or animal attacks.

However this is heartbreaking, through no fault of their own many dogs will be put down, killed.
Even though they've done nothing to anyone just because of the breed they are.

I find that heartbreaking, as you say poor dogs suffering again because of greed, bad owners and badly thought out policy from those in power too.

This is the start again.
The doors will be open to there being other breeds added to banned dogs listings, in the future again because of more like irresponsible owners.

That’s great .. apart from the fact that the irresponsible owner never abide by rules

Most dogs if not all are loyal and friendly if loved and cared for from a pup and not interbred to make them look like a weapon. Dogs react to how they are brought up imo, many of these dogs will lose their lives because of greedy selfish people.:wavey:

Any that are Not Registered
can be killed.

And the Owner sent to Prison or Big Fine.

Also Now Illegal to breed any XL bully dogs

My lovely old dog qualifies as an XL Bully despite her being a Bulldog/Staffy/Boxer mix so we’ve had to do all of this. She’s 13 now, we’ve had her since she was 4 months old, and she has never so much as growled, such a beautiful, friendly and loving dog. It’s a shame especially at her age. Breaks my heart honestly.

I worry there’s hundreds and thousands of mongrel owners who have no idea their dog will qualify (the guide is so vague it’s ridiculous imo) and could possibly end up being destroyed. Dread to think.

arista 01-02-2024 02:19 AM

That is terrible.

Unfortunately it's the irresponsible Dog owners that always end up causing grief to the responsible Dog owners.

It's some people's fault why people give Rottweiler's a bad reputation, because some people mistreat the Rottweiler so that it ends up being vicious towards other people.

Hopefully your Dog is doing okay.

Yes - oddly enough … many decades ago I spent nearly a year working at an animal sanctuary and one thing that stuck in my mind was that three of the softest most affectionate dogs were a huge , female Rottweiler , a massive Doberman and a beautiful white Alsatian / German shepherd

Police are saying
around 10,000 XL Bully Dogs are not registered.

Reported today.

Livia 01-02-2024 11:14 AM

There are no bad dogs, only bad owners. If I had one of those dogs from a pup he'd be a big old teddy bear with boundaries and training.

I remember the time when a Rottweiler came up to me and sniffed my Shoe.:joker:

I don't know what he expected to find on my Shoe, but he was fascinated by one of them.

4PM yesterday.

[Grandmother, 68, who was savagely mauled to death
by two 'XL Bullys' in Essex seaside horror
while she was visiting her grandson]

[They were XL Bullies. There were eight of them
in the house, six puppies and two adults.
None of them neutered, not registered.]

[The dogs - which were destroyed by police - were
owned by breeder Ashley Warren,
a wannabe rapper who goes by the
name Wyless Man.
Tattooed East London rapper Warren,
who features in drill music videos online,
posted a Facebook ad selling XL Bully puppies
for £500 in November, we can also reveal.]

[Police said the breeds which attacked Ms Martin
are yet to be determined, but the family claimed
they were XL Bully dogs.
Images show how at least one appears to
be an XL Bully-type, while another looks
like a Rottweiler.
A 39-year-old man from Jaywick was arrested
on suspicion of dangerous dogs offences and
remains in custody.]
