Andrew Haines, Network Rail Executive
claims his deal is not going to the Union Members.
Mick Lynch is not allowing his members to agree the deal.

8% over 2 years
75% Discounted travel.
No changes to the contract.

Something is not right
as Lynch says, they are making changes to the contract?

arista 27-07-2022 07:56 AM

Grant Shapps MP Transport Secretary

keeps saying they will not work between station

Mick Lynch was Live on SkyNewsHD
and said that is not true.

Will she??

This is someone who actually in my view made one of the strongest defences and speeches FOR the single market in her forceful campaign to remain in the EU.
That was only 6 years ago.

Now she's turned not into just an acceptance of the referendum but someone who'd throw out long held beliefs to continue in higher profile jobs.
That actually would worry me.

Plus the NI increase.
She says she spoke against it in Cabinet and was never in favour of it.
Yet then voted for it.

So in power she'd support things she knew and believed were wrong to hold her job.

I still love Zizu's humerous post of her more like Diz Truss
Because frankly I think she's another who will say anything with no real meaning to it to hold her job or gain a better one.

In my view however, I sort of hope she does win.
I cannot bear either of these strongly still tarnished still candidates who don't in any way reflect any new beginning of this government at all.
I can see her faltering bigtime in a hard embattling election campaign .
Maybe more badly than Mrs May did too.

Good grief if any Labour leader couldn't take Labour to government either as largest party or majority overall government over this pathetic individual.
Then politics is really in a desperate state indeed.
Moreso than it already seems to be.

Labour has possibly, in my view its most lack lustre and boring leader possible but Truss is someone not to put any faith in whatsoever in my view.
I'm actually surprised you rate her so highly arista.
Is she really one of the best the Cons have to come up with for the whole new fresh start and clean up the Con party and government so desperately now needs.
If she is, all powers that be help the UK then.

arista 27-07-2022 08:52 AM

Yes Joey,
but Truss accepts Brexit now
so back tracking is easy to do

The problem here is that she and Sunak are career politicians, so is Starmer. So they will change direction with the wind if they think it will benefit their career. Sunak is already changing his position on tax cuts because he knows persisting with his previous position will cost him the PM job. The whole lot of them stink

You're right absolutely.

Also re Starmer.
Labour should be suppporting this rail dispute.
It's about much more than just train drivers.
Starmer knows he should too.
Sometimes an issue needs people standing up to be counted.
This dispute I feel is one such issue.

Starmer also in my view, I know you'll not likely agree with me here.
However I'm really not happy he's to drop the te- nationalising policy.
Although he now says he's pragmatic about it.
He was elected to hopefully keep those plans because he gave the impression he would.

I still hope to see what, if anything he now brings up on that by the election.

He is really annoying me.
He has the intelligence but his presentation skills are next to zero.

I'll not repeat again what I will keep hoping and campaigning for as to politics as to PR.

However, I think the UK has never been so badly served in practice and as to choices in politics as it is now.
Truly awful across the board.

The opposition has said the rail strike impasse can be best resolved by the two sides coming together to reach a fair outcome for all.

Speaking to TalkTV this week, shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said the way to support striking workers "doesn’t involve going on picket lines".

Instead, she said Labour should work to "bring the parties together to get an outcome that is fair to those people who work in the rail sector and elsewhere".
