I like the way she handled everything, ultimately. Glad she is on the other side of it at least.

bots 10-09-2024 06:35 AM

i think the video she posted was such a contrast to the days of the past where a few words would be posted on the palace gate

Ammi 10-09-2024 06:48 AM

…I wish her well and good health going forward…..

Vanessa 10-09-2024 09:30 AM

She looks better. Hopefully on the mend?

I'm genuinely happy for her recovery but the Video is insincere PR guff and if it had been released by "other royals" you lot would be all over it lol.

Did the "terrible cheesy music" magically cease being terrible and cheesy and become "cute" when you realised that it was part of their actual video and not added by the radio? :joker:

No I am not stupid, I knew it was on the video it just didnt sound great on radio, am I allowed that opinion? I can hold two thoughts in my head at the same time, I am a woman afterall... I thought the addition of the music was unnecessary and cheesy but the video was cute....

It was a personal message from Kate saying she was on the mend, personally, i'm not looking for it to win an award, and i don't understand people being intentionally critical

Like I said I'm happy for her recovery, I think the video is cynical (it's not a personal message, they didn't make that themselves, we've seen Kate's photoshop skills - that video is a heavily posed and curated piece of PR material from their PR team).

I'd much rather see something heartfelt and genuine but I'm not exactly "bothered by it", it is what it is, and I highly doubt it was their choice .

I do also like to point out the hypocrisy on here when I know for a fact TiBB would have been spewing if this had come from elsewhere... But that's nothing on Kate & Co, just my TiBB peers :hee:.

Fair enough, I find that a little hard to wrap my head around because if anything I would say the words themselves were nice (if a little overdelivered) while the music and video were trashy in exactly the same way, with the kids scampering up and down where the director said to camper up and down, and even a scene where she was posed against a tree with a fan on her that they were pretending was a summer breeze, and digitally-added sunrays in post production :umm2:.

So yeah for me the message was nice but the production was ham-fisted and indeed in your words cheesy... I just don't understand how seeing the video could possibly make it LESS cheesy.

I dunno mang. Ultimately I just find it a bit depressing that she's had to battle cancer and in the aftermath has to pose for an emotionally empty video cobbled together by staffers and PR people, for the benefit of the overfamiliar public, when it's probably the last thing she actually wants to do. I'll no doubt be accused of lacking empathy by people who demonstrate time and time again that they have little to no interest in the actual human lives of the poor souls living in that fish tank.

For some people, that's just their hobby. It's like when people get together to gossip and try to get into each other's business. "I was just concerned, Dear... that you may be confused... that woman ain't no good, ya hear?"

You been delving into Jet's "Meghan Markle thread" past posts, Maru?
