i would also hazard a guess that something to that effect was written in to his last contract renewal

[emoji1630] Premier League statement confirms “Manchester City have been charged with numerous breaches of financial rules ”.

@martynziegler now reports that “Man City will not be able to appeal any sanction to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the one which overturned the UEFA ban.

of course they will be able to appeal it, maybe not to that particular court, but the appeal route is still there

Juventus have just been docked 11 points

Crimson Dynamo 06-02-2023 12:06 PM

And Rangers got relegated to division 3 for such things

bots 06-02-2023 12:34 PM

Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG are all innocent though

a clubs revenue is not about the size of it's fan base anymore. Its about tv revenue and sponsorship deals, so the guy is fundamentally talking nonsense

They sponsor themselves :joker:

that's an entirely different debate

I don't know what the rules are around sponsorship, so i've no idea if any have been broken. I would imagine, legally speaking, it's very difficult to prove anything as any good money launderer will tell you

115 separate offences / charges and the Prem League only need ONE charge to stick and they can hit them as hard as they want ..

They will go in hard to save face / embarrassment imho

no they won't, because there are too many other clubs with similar problems. It would destroy the premier league and the money THEY get from it

So why are the premier league even charging them at all ?

Never mind hitting them with an unprecedented number of offences ( serious ones at that ) .. by your reasoning they would have simply turned a blind eye

none of these offences are clear cut. The premier league would lose its status as the big money machine which the premier league and all the clubs in it benefit from. There are literally billions at stake. That's why nothing will happen

So why would they risk alienating ManCity in the first place then ?

By your reasoning they should turn a blind eye to all bad practices

they are making it known that Man City should behave themselves

It's a house of cards, there isn't a team in the premier league that won't have done something dodgy at some point in the last 15 years. We all know it and if Man City are penalised, fingers will be pointed in all directions and the premier league will lose its appeal. Money always talks

This season is insane...Not overly surprising considering the world cup, but still
