Student loans aren't real debt. I'm currently £9k in debt if that's the case and not once have I thought 'oh ****' about it. You don't start paying it off till you're earning over £21k and a lot of people never pay it off/don't even bother so his point quite frankly was an irrelevant one.

Thank God he didn't press the button in time, he's no longer the bore he once was but no way has he done enough to deserve any money, let alone £23k. Jack has.

I don't even see a failed rap career in his future...Unintelligent people tend to keep their mouths shut, or lose the head over the slightest thing. My school education ended for me in the middle of my third term at a comprehensive school in Birmingham around the time of the Birmingham bombings...yet here I am employed by the CDVEC for the last ten years as a computer/music teacher on the technical wage scale because of the computers. Not much really, just 37.14 Euros per hour , yet there's mark, the unemployed scientist who strips for a living in keeping with his quest for fame...The world is what you make it and I'm not fully convinced that young cristian can even make tea, let alone shape his world, I'm sorry to say. NOT.,:spin:

None of them are happy for Jack. Its all a front for public consumption pretending to have a halo on there heads and goody goody two shoes on there feet.

Actually agreed with Danny about this - 'every student is'.

Student debt isn't the same as regular debt. I'm in a lot of debt (due to my own stupidity, mind) and the pressure to pay it off is entirely different. Cristian hardly has bailiffs knocking on his door for his student loan back.

Jack has mentioned before that he's in debt because of his gambling problem.

i do not feel sorry for someone in debt because of his/her stupidity and greed, and overspending, and gambling.

however, i feel for students with debt due to his/her education expense..

...I totally agree, also didn't they know the viewer's opinions before that of tem thinking that Chloe hadn't been selfish in taking the £5000..?...

...hmmm, I'm a little confused with student loans...you can't pay more each month if you want to and can afford to but you can pay the whole loan off in one go though..?.../seems odd...

Niamh. 13-07-2015 09:24 AM

Chloe has a mortgage so she's probably in debt for 5 or 6 times that amount atleast

smudgie 13-07-2015 09:35 AM

 When I tell my daughter if I win the lottery or come into money I will give her a deposit for a house she always says she would be happier if we paid off her 30 plus grand student loan first.
She has to pay a fair chunk of her wages for another ten years yet, the interest will rise again when she gets her next pay rise, and it is now taken into account when applying for a mortgage.

VanessaFeltz. 13-07-2015 09:38 AM

Cristian deserves that money more jack doesnt because he is in debt due to his dumb actions.

I agree, Jack had no right to steal that money just to pay off his gambling problem.

As far as I'm aware you can send them a cheque and pay however much of it you want to in lump sums, even all of it. But you're under no obligation to do so.

...hmmmm, from the newly qualified teachers that I've spoke to, they have to pay a set amount (set by the government..) each month/they get it deducted from their salary etc...and some have asked about repaying a higher amount to pay it off more quickly but they haven't been allowed to though...but maybe they can pay large lump sums at a time though, it just seems dumb to allow that but not for people to set their monthly repayments higher if they can afford it and want to.../we need to sort this out, Marsh...

Oh, how strange.

I've just completed my degree and am going off all the documentation they've sent me about the rules around my loan and stuff, which includes paying more than the standard monthly charge if I wanted to. :omgno:

Hmmm.....

Whereas Cristian has a degree to show for it and no obligation to pay his debt back, unlike a mortgage. :smug:
