Dier was climbing on Mount’s shoulders for his header to Kane so according to the rules the goal should not stand

Highlights show clear foul on Mount for that goal so what is the point of VAR

People hate Chelsea, they're happy about their downfall, so it's not mentioned. The commentary on USA didn't even acknowledge it

bots 26-02-2023 02:33 PM

the moment the board said they had full confidence in potter, it was obvious he was within a couple of matches of the sack

Swan 26-02-2023 02:45 PM

I've never seen a Chelsea team play so poor as they have done the 2nd half of this season. Even with the first Jose era, yeah we didn't always play exciting football, but we got the job done, and comfortably. We literally never look like a threat going forward. We've brought too many unproven players. People like Mount are 1 in 10 good game players. Our defence has no organisation, Midfield is weak and all of the place. And we're awful going forward. We've tried to throw money at the problem, and that's not working, i feel now we need to get rid of Potter. Bring someone in who will stick with a starting 11, and just hope by the start of next season the players have had time to gel, and things pick up.

This season is a total loss. I remember in 2012, we were poor domestically, yet we had fight and went on to win the CL and FA Cup. No way are we pulling off a CL win this season. No fight, no real passion, and the quality is at an all time low.

Swan 26-02-2023 02:49 PM

Getting rid of Tuchel was an awful decision too.

How did Potter have BRIGHTON playing so well though ?!?

Why play out of form players who are also lacking confidence ??

No fear, young unknowns looking to make a name for themselves. And ultimately no pressure. I like Potter, i think he's a nice guy, but too much too soon. Brighton's main goal is staying in the PL. And good luck to them, ironically it's by far the easiest PL Stadium for me to get to. Not the distance, but the drive is easy. I know a few Brighton fans. Im happy they've done so well. But Potter had it easy there. Chelsea are ruthless and expect trophies. It was just too big a step for him.

bots 26-02-2023 03:00 PM

he also has a bigger squad of highly talented, highly paid players, its a completely different dynamic.

Look at Man U with Pogba and Ronaldo, with a standard manager, they destroyed the dressing room, it needed a manager like Ten Hag who doesn't mess about to sort the problem out

Jumping for the weak punch out, yes Benny Blanco is holding the keepers arm. Not when trying to save the Trossard shot though. The keeper was standing still on his own.

My argument, is the corner phase has ended and we were in a new phase. Can we have the following scenarios - Corner taken, headed out, crossed back in, headed out, crossed back in, headed out, shoot score. Do we go back to original corner to see if there is a foul? Surely not. In this instance, if the keeper had stayed on the ground Trossard shoots etc. Now I agree, the goal should be disallowed but not for a hand on the arm that happened ages before the ball was in the back of the net.

Interesting as Paul Merson mentioned, the refs dont see a clear pull down of Saka but they can see a hand on the keepers arm from a corner..

Also, yeah we need to give Potter credit for Brighton, but they've not exactly fallen apart since he left either.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola jokes that Manchester United could win the Premier League "if they spend a little more money".

This is true.

Potter looks and sounds like a loser. He's like Moyes at Man Utd or Ole at Man Utd. Sounds like he's just happy to be there rather saying he's gonna take the team to another level

GiRTh 01-03-2023 08:40 PM

Is it squeaky bum time? I dunno but that was good performance. We looked awful till we scored.

Arsenal. Good win under pressure

bots 01-03-2023 08:52 PM

that win should settle Arsenal down again and the league is theirs to win
