Terrible weekend for Liverpool - only top team to lose I think

Last weekend it was so different.. all the top teams around / above them lost points

My first time at the London stadium this season. Think we actually played well but that was a big missed opportunity today as Villa didn't seem that bothered

Thankfully Newcastle won but the other teams did us no favours this weekend :fist:

In fact everyone has kicked Saka today .

I don’t get the lack of protection to the flair players .. they get the people wanting to watch football .. it’s not the hack merchants

Edit

Sara taken off - probably to save him from injury

You're right, Saka is getting horrible treatment from players and refs.

He doesn't go down as easily as Grealish and say Zaha, so doesn't win as many free kicks. Saka always tries to ride the first tackle. He's got this great move where he traps the ball with his right foot and that sends it away from the defender who then has to foul him to stop him, he's also surprisingly strong, you can just knock him over

I reckon almost every time you see Saka on the ground he has been genuinely fouled and I reckon 50% are bookings. Throw a feather at Grealish/Zaha and they go down like they've been shot.

Saka has the football brain of a 30-year old. 150 Million minimum if anyone wants him. After Bellingham, he's probably the best player under 21 in Europe.

Great win today in a game I thought we'd drop points. To have the game wrapped up by half time could send a message

EDIT: After a Thursday graveyard game too.

Crimson Dynamo 12-03-2023 05:54 PM

this is how long it would take a brand new team to get to the prem

Arsenal look to be offloading a few players in the summer but I’d keep Tierney as Zinchenko maybe needed to cover midfield next season.

I’d certainly offload Reiss Nelson - he’s just not good enough given the high quality now

I’d love to see Daniel Podence in their colours !

This feels sooo wrong given I detest ManU

Feel a bit sorry for Casemiro again ..

Casemiro actually got to the ball FIRST but sadly his foot bounced off the ball into the guy’s shin … anyways no intent at all which is probably irrelevant..

Casemiro was unlucky to get sent off a few weeks ago when he simply grabbed the guy’s collar to calm him down ..

They really should look to overturn it, Andrew Mariner let three such incidents go on Saturday with Leicester v Chelsea, and given the ref had given a yellow he decided to stick a red in

Over 62,000 were there despite a crap season

Only Man u had a larger attendance

JUST IN: Todd Boehly has made signing Frenkie De Jong Chelsea's absolute PRIORITY. He is a top target for them this summer. @footyinsider247

Rangers player Kemar Roofe also believes in the same God and he has been injured all season

So is he not praying enough or what?

bots 15-03-2023 10:13 AM

Neymar is out for the season .. it’s ridiculous how refs have suddenly started to let defenders just hack away at the flair players and let them go unpunished .. I’ve seen hundreds of late tackles and deliberate stamps

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen does not think it is all doom and gloom.

Speaking on BT Sport, he said: "Liverpool's strength is that group of players who have been to the trenches and won together.

"That takes years of building. Why is everyone talking about a refresh?

"I think Liverpool have got enough. Looking through their starting XI, there's nobody out there better than their goalkeeper. Their right-back is unbelievable, the left-back too, Virgil van Dijk is probably the best in the world when he is on form. Ibrahima Konate is brilliant. The front five are brilliant.

I want whatever Owen is smoking

Depends … next season they can reinvent themselves with around. £100 million and look bladdy amazing

Just need a front three of Diaz on the left Salah on the right and Nunez through the middle , with Gakpo central but deeper ( similar to the Firmino role )

They’d still have Jota to come on later .

They are expected to blow between £100
and £120 million on Jude Bellingham and just imagine if they also got Modric on a free this summer !!

2 things.

They are looking unlikely to make the champions league next season and are a team in transition. Why would Bellingham choose them over other clubs certain to win trophies

Without the champions league income, can liverpool even afford Bellingham

I really think they can make the top 4 ..

Granted those three games after the (crappy ) international break ( City / Chelsea / Arsenal will determine that though . They do seem to play better against the top teams

I think Newcastle will fall away now , same with uninspiring Spurs and ManU .

I see Liverpool ending the season strongly now Jota is back and Diaz back soon .

Crazy how the Prem league has gone from non-contact football to Aussie Rules in such a short space of time

Bruno took Dennis out from behind and he’s had to go off with an Achilles injury
