The only part I was "downplaying" was the gallows, which is clearly too flimsy to support the weight of a human. It was literally a prop.

As for the other riots (I'm not calling them BLM, they lose the right to be called anything but thugs), they were worse in terms of victims. Vast swathes of cities burning, versus a few bloody politicians getting their feathers ruffled?

You're being disingenuous again and I'm not sure why when it's so easy for me to point it out and discard it. You'd think you'd learn that this approach won't work by now but oh well...

Most of the victims in the BLM protests were protesters killed by the police when the protest was opposed to police brutality. To make out that it's the protests' fault is just dumb. People went out to peacefully protest, they didn't march on Capitol Hill, erect a ****ing Gallows and invaded a government building with weapons, ties and plans to kidnap people.

I like how you say you aren't downplaying what happened.... Only to then downplay the whole incident as 'a few bloody politicians getting their feathers ruffled'. A lack of awareness is a common trait amongst radicalised people and it's certainly radicalised behaviour to downplay what was an act of terrorism upon US democracy.

Take a good look at yourself, Oliver. You really need to.

user104658 10-01-2021 01:50 PM

Hmm. In terms of scale obviously the riots in summer were literally larger. However, in terms of symbolism, an armed insurgency into a DC government building waving Nazi and confederate flags is absolutely massive. Really beyond anything the US has seen for, literally, well over a century.

That said I do agree that the gallows that I've seen pictures of are more likely a prop/message than something that was literally intended to be used... It isn't braced and looks like it would almost certainly collapse under a person's weight.

That said... They're not exactly geniuses in that crowd... So maybe they DID intend to try to use it and didn't realise that it would crumple like wet tissue paper.

I do hope Twitter keep this up for ALL those who incite violence, Facebook too.

it stands in their rules, policies

and Twitter already did hand out bans to those who provoked hatred, bigotry, racism (re: Katie Hopkins)

now Trump, and i can predict next one being Laurence Fox (i mean that ban for Lozza is also waiting to happen anytime now)

The victims of the riots were people whose neighborhoods were destroyed.

Well, the victims are the people who died but let's not let that get in the way of your crusade to make out that bricks and mortar matters more than black lives.

Also, why edit down my post to one sentence? Don't have an answer for the rest? How telling.

Until the 20th of January. Donald Trump is still the President of the United States of America.

This is an attack on the President of the United States of America. Which means, The United States of America are under attack, right now.

I can’t believe you don't understand this, and you think nothing is gonna happen about it.

What is an attack on the president?

There are an easy, quick set of gallows you could make for effect, but look at the work that's gone into this. I genuinely don't know either way, but this looks a bit more than shock value to me.

Never said that. The police brutality and the riots are separate things.

Too many personal comments and gaslighting. No need for it. You don't get to tell other people what they're thinking.

So it either was made by them to be little edgelords, or they're dumb enough to think that thing wouldn't collapse from a person hanging from it?

Just because the Gallows didn't look properly functioning doesn't mean that the intent from the terrorists still wasn't to hang people, thankfully I guess we'll never know.

Even joking about doing it is quite disturbed imo.

You'll learn that they do get to tell you what you're thinking, and the mods will let them get away with it.

President Trump has huge news on the Covid pandemic, huge news.

However, he can't communicate that news with his people, so forget about it.

You do realise how pathetic this makes trump look? I was going to tell you something, but now you've taken my twitter away I'm sulking.

He's the president, so he could call a press briefing.

That takes time setting up, this is an emergency, no time to waste.

yes it is an emergency how Trump needs to be removed now asap, and locked up in a nice little cold isolation cell

Alf 10-01-2021 03:51 PM

We know for a fact, that he wasn't banned for inciting violence, because his tweets were the exact opposite, calling for calm and for people to go home. (feel free to prove me wrong by showing me his tweets that involved incitement to violence, I'll quite happily show you his tweets doing the opposite, they're all archived)

What's the real reason?
