I tend not to cross on and off the field matters in football, as is my stance in the TerryBridge gate saga

Good way to be I suppose. That's why I loved Georgie Best. Catholics and Protestants all loved him because he didn't get involved in that side of things.

And Celtic had MON at the helm and he was one of their best/favourite managers of all time, and he was N.Irish of course

I remember watching a clip of a Brian Clough interview when O'Neill was a Forest player and he was asked what he thought about him. He said something like, " he's a good lad, but it always worries me when I have a player who's smarter than me". Something like that anyway. Clough was a legend.

King Gizzard 27-02-2010 11:02 PM

Ahhh I love MON..but I wish we sacked him at the Start of the transfer window then re-hired him when it shut lol

I understand what you mean. Some managers just don't understand the transfer market. I mean they're just old school and can't handle all the rubbish or might be fearful of making a bollox of it. Wenger is the same. He did buy Milner though.

King Gizzard 27-02-2010 11:06 PM

We don't have much money as well

But we havnt spent any money in the last year or two really (all the players we bought have been funded by other player sales like Barry etc)

Want to take a risk on a striker

but then again he did take a risk on A.Young and Milner who were good...and straight swapping Baros for Carew from Lyon (amazing deal)

but then let himself down with Harewood and Heskey

setanta 27-02-2010 11:08 PM

That happens though. I mean, look at Ferguson's record. Veron?!! And Berbatov is a good player but wasn't worth that kinda money.

King Gizzard 27-02-2010 11:09 PM

Kleberson, Anderson

Nah, I just think he's being played out of position and still has to mature as a player. A bit of a birdbrain, that's all.

i think he has the ability, but i question his attitude, he's had ample amount of chances to command his place, i dont think he's took them. with carrick, fletcher, gibson, scholes and hargreaves to come back, i think he might see the exit door this year.

Yeah, his attitude isn't the best, that's for sure.

Think Hargreaves career could be over to tell you the truth. Very sad.

King Gizzard 27-02-2010 11:22 PM

Alf 27-02-2010 11:56 PM

are you confident for villa tomorrow nath?

King Gizzard 28-02-2010 12:01 AM

I am yes, but when I say I am, we heavily lose

and when I'm really really negative we win (like at united when we won 1-0)

so probably lose

I want dunney to two foot rooney early on

setanta 28-02-2010 12:04 AM

Didn't I tell you at the start of the season that Dunne would be a great purchase for you? Great defender.
