Driving lessons!

I just had my first driving lesson today! I was very nervous and it felt weird being behind the wheel! I just felt like I'm never going to get the hang of it, is that normal?

What is everyone else's experience of driving like? Are you currently taking lessons?, are you already driving or is driving not for you?

thesheriff443 08-03-2014 07:15 PM

you will get there!, its going to be unnatural at first, there is a lot to think about when you first start to learn.
22 years in, cars, vans, trucks, fork lifts, tractors, ride on rollers, diggers,

MTVN 08-03-2014 07:17 PM

Yeah very normal, my first couple of lessons I didn't know how people were able to do this and remember so many things at once so easily, now it's all just second nature. Driving is great once you really get the hang of it and you pass your test, gives you so much more freedom

Cherie 08-03-2014 07:57 PM

yeah it feels like a lot to take in at first trying to coordinate hands and feet, but soon it becomes second nature.

LaLaLand 08-03-2014 08:32 PM

Before long it'll be second nature to you, then once you have it it never leaves you - like riding a bike!

Good luck, here's to a speedy process (no pun intended :P)

..yeah, you do think at first as if you're never going to get the hang of it, it all feels really weird but then it will all just 'click' into place for you and won't seem so complicated, Andy..good luck with your driving lessons...exciting...:amazed:...

hi andy - totally normal to feel like this. as your first time its got to be expected - what i would say is - have as many lessons as you can and have them close together - i no its expensive but the benefit is you get more familiar and it keeps it fresh in your head and it becomes like walking.

it is alot to take in but like i say above - the more you do it - it will come natural to you.

good luck mate.

Yeah driving is great! One day it'll literally just click and you'll wonder how you ever found it difficult!

Moviefan 09-03-2014 05:29 PM

I know how you feel, I being trying to pass my driving lesson for years, it's cost to much, So, I stooped. when I was 27 years old.

I had not a lesson for almost 3 years, I did not enjoy it at all , I don't mind transport, it may be coast at times but you can relax and read a book!

I need to start all over again! soon, well this year need to pass theory test, I passed it before!

waterhog 09-03-2014 07:50 PM

i did drive my instructor round the bend and i wrote him endless poems about driving - as for the driving test - i think the examiner just wanted shot of me as i was on one that day.

Crimson Dynamo 09-03-2014 07:55 PM

my driving instructor had killer tits

it was a bad distraction. By lesson 12 my right arm was pumped like a lie low on Mercury

Jake. 09-03-2014 07:55 PM

I think i've done 24 hours or so so far..

Saph 09-03-2014 08:10 PM

I've got my theory on thursday, hoping to pass my actual test by the end of April at the most

I cant understand people who don't drive. Mind driving makes me lazy I live about half a mile away from asda yet I still use the car, I do walk about 7 miles day anyway like with the dogs.

Saph 09-03-2014 09:03 PM

andybigbro 09-03-2014 10:28 PM

I have two brothers currently taking lessons... I'm thinking of it doing it too now tbh this summer if I manage to find a job

Z 15-03-2014 10:15 PM

I never thought I would like driving - I didn't want to learn but my parents got me lessons for my 17th birthday and it led to nothing, my instructor was awful, he used to smoke while I was driving and was a total cowboy, just taking money and not helping me at all... so didn't try again for years and then when I was 20 I started learning again and passed first time :D

Saph 14-04-2014 04:47 PM

old thread but im bumping because I passed my theory today :dazzler:
