My dad loved my mother until the day he died, they were divorced for nearly 40 years.

My grandad was the same about my grandmother. She left him and my mum when my mum was 9 and he never loved anyone else, it was so sad. He brought my mum up on his own but if she'd knocked on his door 40 years later he would have welcomed her with open arms.

Not very long. Six months and that was when i was 21. But we have known each other since we were kids.
