HMV enters administration again
The second time in 6 years. Pray for HMV </3
|
A decent shop. Ffs the amount of clothing stores and cafes but this is different and original
|
I like HMV but lbh it's selling point is DVDs/CDs and who uses them anymore
|
I still love HMV. Love browsing. I still buy vinyl and blu ray. Gutting news and hope they can get out of it again.
|
Whenever I go into a HMV theyre always really busy
|
2,200 jobs at risk as HMV on brink of administration
https://news.sky.com/story/2200-jobs...ation-11593091 Yes --sad news if the final stores close |
I used to love going into HMV and browsing, you'd often come out with a film or box set that you didn't know you wanted.
It's kinda sad how streaming sites have taken over and everything is done with the click of a button now, there was something enjoyable about owning a physical copy and although I don't buy many any more, I still have my DVDs from like ten years ago. My local HMV closed in 2011 though and now the closest one is in Oxford Street (which I'm not sure is still even open) so I get any DVDs and Blu-rays from Amazon or Zavvi now. |
Very sad news. Hope it can be saved. Again.
|
Yeah, although it's just as easy for me to buy CD's and Vinyls from online - there's something still quite special about looking through the shop to find what you want, and buying it.

Great store but they are in drastic need of bringing up to date; their website and online services are frankly stuck in 2004.

Amazon, Netflix and Spotify offer a better service at a better price.
This isn't a failure of capitalism, but rather capitalism working perfectly. |
I love HMV, I use Netflix religiously but I do love owning physical copies of films.
